Alright, here it goes, my first WIP I've ever done and I want everyone to see it. I like oblits, and want to make my own because frankly the others are too expensive and I like the idea of all of them looking different, and you just don't get that w/ the GW ones, so here is the latest project I've been working on. Hopefully I get more responses on this one then my turn counter. any and all C & C is appreciated

I'm not that big a fan of them, I like the idea of them, but the idea that no two obliterators would ever look the same makes it kind of appealing to me

Good bit usage, but you should use the green stuff for more than just making the various bits stick together.
I would add more to the shoulder and chest regions to make the fig look more capable of wieding the huge guns.

I especially like the tentacle bolter, but it needs a bit more work.
maybe add a few more tentacles holding bolter clips as if they are reloading?

yeah, I'm planning on adding some more, but I just wanted to get those parts set and work from there, but thanks for the advice

They look great to me so far. One thing I think would look cool is if you had a IG mutated into the side of one

I think they look quite good, though I would beef them up a bit. They're a bit weedy, in my opinion. Could we maybe get a size comparison next to a marine?

Also I like the idea, IMHO they could use Moar Dakka! But that's just me.

Excellent idea, but you should beef them up a bit with Green stuff, make it look like they can hold those big guns!

i like the 2nd one. it looks nice
with the first, its very out of proportion, the upper region seems to be twice the size of the legs. i would suggest using a different head for the model.

In the realm of Chaos, there is no place for proportion! You can be the size of an ant, and throw a marine five miles or something, I don't know or even care what I was saying, besides nothing needs beefing up.

Alright, so here is an update to what I've done, some needed some extra GS and I started a new one that is pretty interesting, so Here it goes

2nd one, third one, and 1st one body I love.
1st one's head...I hate it. It ruins the sense of flow on a fantastic model.

Don't know much about Choas beasties but I think the beefed up torso looks better.
The four legged chap is interesting. Make sure the legs go in the correct sequence. Don't have them both going in the same direction on the same side of the body.

The torso is looking to bolt upright at the mo but You may be doing more to it. As it is, it is looking to static.
Might be worth having a looksee at the Red Box models. imho they have a superb dynamic quality and are a good example of how to pose figures.

There all looking pretty cool maybe blend the head of the first one in a bit more so it looks more merged with the rest of the body.

Thanks everyone for all the comments...The head on the first one definitely isn't a favorite but i like it, the ugliness of it is what I like the most. I might add some more wires to the head to make it seem like more is going on up there

@funksobeefy I know they will have a black legion color scheme because that's the army I'm building but I'm not sure how to do all the fleshy parts...any input would be great, too bad I'm a terrible painter.

I like them a lot,but two things:

1:gs is very forgiving when it comes to death guard and oblits and
2:the gs needs a bit more detailing and modeling,would make them even look better

I think they look fantastic. You have displayed a great deal of originality in putting these mini's together.

Depends how you want the flesh to look. I've found that using a basecoat of the Tallarn Flesh foundation works well, followed by a mix of bubonic brown and dwarf flesh.

If you want it too look infected or something, (like an ingrown fingernali, for instance) you need to make a small area of it white-ish. This spot should be somewhere that looks swollen. Then, do the surrounding area a reddish purple color.

It looks so cool....
