So this is what I came up with. I am wondering what dakka thinks of this.

*Note, I'm still not a very good painter so C&C is allways welcome!

Here it is;

do you ink your models?

if so why not experiment painting one all silver or gold type colours and using the ink to make it look old and rusted look and then highlight the raised areas in the colour schemes like the other models

@oldkey

Well I do ink my models on some degree, and though your plan sounds cool I really want to stick with this colourscheme of black with iceblue innerglow. I an wondering of i went a little overboard with the mithril silver highlights?

Here another pic I just took

right i like the look of them and really if you think they look fine and like them then you should not worry what other people say about them

look at mine ive gone completely the oppsite way of painting ork and some people have said it cool and others have said they are silly but i dont care i like them

what about painting the feet or just highlighting them i think it would look really cool

Yeah that's one thing I noticed on the pictures, the feet look a bit off. Thanks for your feedback though! I

agree with you that your own opinion should be most important. But I really want to become a better painter so help is always welcome

aaahhhh but milton this wargame is fantasy based in the future its all about personal preferences and if you make a terrain in the same colour scheme then any attacking armies colours look odd

@ Million

So what would you exactly suggest? All black or something? That would look a bit off if he fights on a large grassfield.

Really, if you have nothing constructive...

First off, for a begining painter , you show a great deal of skill, the linear highlights and such are well executed, and your detail is well done.

Now that being said I think the problem here may be in color choices, the black, blue, silver and grey are complimentry to each other, but the bright green is kinda out of place, and attracts the eye, with should rightfully be taking in the whole of the model, not just random areas.

I have a few pics of mine own steath suits, and I kinda went for a camo pattern, but my contrast areas were fairly large, the helmet and shoulder pads.

So what I would suggest is perhaps to find a happy medium between the green and the rest of your colors, and maybe a bit of weathering for the black areas, black is always a difficult color to execute well, and weathering has always worked for me.

Again very well done overall, and you are well on your way to a highly sucessful hobby painting style.

Misery. Missouri. Who can tell the difference.

The bright green is a bit too bright. Maybe a catachan green for knarloc green would look much better. Other than that everything else looks good to me.

Thank you guys for the respons! Your probably right about the green when I look at it this way. Gonna try to do just black with ice blue on the next one! I chose to use the neon green, cause this fits in with the rest of my army. Here some fire wariors I am recently painting

The Green on the fire warriors looks good, I think if you plan on using it on your XV-25 stealth suits, you just need to have more of it perhaps, the few places you picked out seemed sorta random, maybe concentrate on the body arms and head with the green and I think it would work.

I like the stealth suit, I might put a green wash onto the green to tone it down a bit

The flames, they burn!

But seriously- yes, of course if they came from the planet of lime cordial and highlighter pens, then it would be stealth, but what are the chances? And yes i know applying logic to an illogical situation is silly, but we all do it.

So, i think the black with blue and silver highlights works really well, makes it look like the armour is shimmering, assimilating the information around it ready to disrupt its outline. My favourite stealth effect i've seen on tau models is when people base them up nicely, then have colours from the base ascending the legs in a pixellated, digital sort of way, and with the rest of the suit a neutral colour like your black and silver effect. So, if you were able to combine that with yours, then i'd be really happy! Just my 2p

Looks good. I like the mixture of your warm and cool colors. Personally, I find that one of the most important things to consider when crafting a color scheme. It looks like you want your main color to be that scorpion green based on the firewarriors. If thats the case I'd take it easy on the lighting blue and use it only for markings and not areas of armor.

I'd like to see some other units and what you do on the large area models like devilfish. I always found two-tone tau hard to pull off because of their large models.

Looks good though, keep up the good work!!

The suit looks good, one think I noticed right away was the silver outlining to me which is only my opinion looked a little too wide on the suit. I would maybe use a nice 10/0 or 20/0 brush and just give it a faint outline to it. Again this is my opinion so take it as you will. Looking good so far keep up the good work

Hello there!

I have graduated in Enginering last tuesday, so now I'm free for more painting! I have not started on the other stealthsuit, but did finished ten fire warriors.

Also I'll add some other pictures from my army here.

@ Kravus master of Horus

What do you mean with regulair paint scheme? All green you mean?

@ Dragonchef

Yeah I'm not to please with how the outlining came out. I was a bit to hasty I think. Gonna try better on the next one.

@ The Malicios Mushroom

Thanks, though I'd probably go with all black and no green. There are the lone dogs

@ Kav122

Thank you! I did not really think about the warm and cool colors, do you mean the green and blue? or the black and blue/green? Also I've added an picture of an older Develfish I painted. Though this is not according my paintscheme, I will probably go with this scheme. (replacing the yellow for green).

@ Million

Yeah Million, I've found so many great stealthsuits on the net. Of course this is what I preferred, but my paintingskill is not near as good to pull that off. Gonna give it a try though! But if they were off stealth mode, they could be any colour they want to be I think?

Anyway! I could really use some feedback on the colors and paintscheme of the rest!

Greetings
