Hello, I'm new to the necrons so can I have some advice, atm I have 20 warriors, 10 scarab swarms, 2 necron lords, 1 monolith and 3 destroyers. I have the sprues for 20 more warriors and I'm wondering, should I make them as normal or convert them into 10 Flayed ones and 10 immortals? Also if you know can you tell me how many points flayed ones and immortals cost? Thanks.

that'll be the only option i'm afraid scar; we can't say points cost because GW get rather about it. understandably, of course.

Honestly, I would just keep them Warriors for the time being. You can NEVER have too many Necron Warriors, they are the ONLY scoring unit you got and they can be quite fragile depending on your opponent. Plus they are the cheapest Necron unit there is, so having more is going to make Phase Out just a bit harder to get. As for Flayed Ones or Immortals, go Immortals. Flayed Ones are just alright but only really helpful against non-fearless units with low morale. Immortals are the best Elite choice I think but are expensive in both cash and points so if you were to convert, Immortals would be the best option.

Make what you have into more Warriors, so you have at least 30. I usually end up fielding two units of 12 or 13 to reach even point limits. I almost never use Immortal or Flayed Ones anymore, and tend to just max myself out on Destroyers, which are the Bee's Knees, so I'd get a bunch more of those.

If I remember correctly flayed ones are 18 points, and Immortals are 29 or something around there. Either way flayed ones suck the balls big times, and immortals are ok, but destroyers are better for what they can do and the more firepower they can bring. I actually recomend getting a second monolith.

This is good.... isn't it?

Flayed ones are 18, Immortals are 28. thats 180pts for ten FO's, and 280pts for 10 immortals.

If i were you, i would make ten into warriors, and ten into immortals. Gives you 30 warriors to workwith, and gives ten immortals to escort your lord(s).

Flayed ones really are not very good. Most units have high enough Ld that their terrifying visage special rule is garbage, the deepstrike is garbage(you'll get shot up upon DSing because you can assault that turn), and they slow.

Cap yourself at 10 immortals, and 60 warriors, and then get at least 10 destroyers. Always take destroyers over immortals points wise, they have better weapons, range, speed, and stats, and you can always throw your lord(s) into warrior units.

Do YOU think this is a competitive/cheese list, or a casual list?

Thanks you guys, the thing is to make immortals you need 2 gauss flayers, so thats why the other ones would have to be flayed ones. That's why I wouldn't just go with 2 units of 10 immortals. Also hopefully soon I will be getting another battleforce, lith and warrior squad so then I would have 60 warriors, 6 destroyers, 10 flayed, 10 immortals, 2 liths, 20 scarabs and 2 lords. Birthday coming up so I'm hoping to get some cash. Thanks for advice!

Okay, I went down to my club the other day, seeing as though it's just friendly down there me and a friend decided to proxy a couple of things each, he's thinking about getting some carnifexes and me wondering about the elites so that's what we proxied. I must say i'm confused as to why everybody is saying flayed ones suck, I rather like them. We play by some rules that I made based on DoW PC game (link here - http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/283941.page) in which all units can score from objectives so that bits not an issue. Also all you need to do is DS or Infiltrate behind some nice cover than dash in and rip the enemy apart. And immortals are rather nice too, with basically 30" range a turn with 2 dice each I can't find many faults. Anyways I've started converting em, done 4 of each atm. If anyone wants pics post back and I'll upload.

I don't know, in some competitive lists, they only go with 20 warriors and roll with everything else in the list. In addition they kept the phase out number low.

The warriors are not great...having more doesn't make them better.
More scoring units is only for the risk averse.
While a higher phase out is not always better...

Again, it's a copyright issue as to why we don't just up and give individual points costs.
It was cautioned to not give them, yet people give up the points costs.../sigh.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.
