I converted this Deff dread out of a carnifex and a AoBR boy. I got the buzz saw from the ork bits and the skorcha is from a real deff dread kit. I am considering removing the carnifexs legs and replacing them with the legs from the deff dread kit. His back story... He is the only surviving member of a mob of boyz who took out a carnifex but he was mortally wounded. In order to honor this killy boy his pain boy grafted the dieing boy into the carnifex carcass. the mek boy added more dakka to the new creation and some metal bitz for good measure. And now the boy is more killy then eva!

Painting the fex in metallics was a bad idea imo... looks more like a cop out robofex rather than a looted one.

however, I do think it is cool, but it should be painted to look organic. Go crazy with cables in the back of the head, or reigns, or implants, or a remote control, etc...

IMHO as a rule of thumb, if you paint some orkish thing with metallics, it should be one of the following:

angular

damaged/repaired

dirty

rusty

covered with rivits

all of the above

Well what if i gave him a blue paint job? I could paint all of his silver scales blue and his silver shell peices blue and then it looks like the orks painted the carnifex and he is not just Robo fex.

I agree with Tblock. Aside from the colour scene, its a cool idea. I just think it would help with some means of representing how the fed is being controlled, either some form of brain control or maybe just an ork / team of grots behind with electro-prods.

the boy is grafted into the fex. There is a battery pack on the back that is connected to both the boy and the fex. He controls it like a regular boy controls a deffdred. the fex isnt alive any more he has been converted by the mek and the pain boy into a mechanical suit essentialy for the boy.

hey looks good,its looted so it wouldno longer look like a bio bug it would become metal....well done be proud of your creation,you thought it was cool enough to post so keep being proud of it and dont change it
