The Purple Frags are a relatively-small orky tribe that consists of both orkz and diggaz(orky humans) that are lead by a diggaboss simply known as Da UnOrky. If you couldn't guess it from the name, the primary tribe color is a royal purple, "kuz purple iz boff fast and lucky!" While I could sit here and type out the fluff of it all, that's some writefaggory for another time.

I'm generally low on cash at all times, so I don't end up getting kits often unless they are a good deal(such as AoBR) or if it has many things I can't easily get elsewhere.(like Lootaz/Burnaz or plastic Nobz) Otherwise, I konvert like a madmek with whatever bitz and things I can loot without consequence. I'm also not the greatest painter around, and none of my currently-painted models look even close to what most people consider decent, but I admittedly find myself avoiding painting my models in general.

Here's my deffdread, with tricked-out DCCW's. He loves to "hug" big threats and other walkers. I haven't come up with a name for it yet.

My looted wagon. Since I'm not one with teef to throw around, I built this off of a plastic armyman tank. Had to cut it apart and widen it since it was too tiny. Took advantage of the body and built two turrets for it so I could switch between the boomgun and skorcha. Tank kommanda is there for fun. Also lacks a name.

My diggaboss Da UnOrky was originally my very first conversion and maybe fifth paintjob, and was in-general very poor quality. A little over a year later I decided to start anew with it.

I remade some of the details from the original model, such as the bullet hull in the right pauldron and the 5 holes in the left, both made with a drill bit and a bit of exacto knife work in the case of the right one. I also decided to make the iron gob from the pixel arts of him out of greystuff instead of using the iron-coated jaw of the previous warboss like I did on the old model.(though it will still be mentioned in the eventual fluff writings.) The bosspole was a must, so I took some plasticard and carefully carved out the Purple Fragz emblem for the top, and hung some ruined icons/trinkets of defeated foes on the trophy rack. Traded the twin-linked shoota for a kombi-skorcha because a template weapon that always hits is more reliable than rerolling two shots with a Ballistics Skill of 2.

Except for the lack of an Attack Squig(which I'm going to attach to the base) and the stikkbombz(which few people model on Warbosses anyway), the model is fairly WYSIWYG, which pleases me.
(Note: The model itself is attached to the stand with stickyputty just so it can be put on the base for display. I'll glue it when I make a suitable scenic-base for him. Also, the photo is a few months old, so all those mold lines I missed at the time have been taken care of.)

Here's my incomplete WYSIWYG Nob squad. A good portion of these are converted from AoBR nobs. Klaws from kits to bits to scratch built from sprue and 'card. The other three nobs will just have big choppaz though, since I'd like to be able to have something that might strike first. They likely won't be named until they are fully painted.

My WIP battlewagon.
Built from two $3 trucks from walmart, it's going to be magnetized for full kustomization. The three Big Guns are finished so far, but I've still got to do the killkannon and smallguns-turret. The hard top also needs to have some pins drilled into it.

Its deffrolla will likely be based off of a redbull can if I cannot find anything thinner that isn't a toiletpaper roll.
...It too will need a name...

I seem to be stumped with something right now:

I'm not sure how to go about making the killkannon.

Granted, I was going to give it a larger turret-housing to begin with so I could but a Big Gun on top of it if I wanted, but I'm unsure how wide the cannon itself should be.

I'm open to any ideas at this point.

EDIT: and not to have a completely empty update, here's some art of Da UnOrky I commissioned.

Very cool Diggaboss. He looks more like a cross between Tau and SM than a warboss. Very suiting for Da Unorky. I like your nob conversions too.

I'm looking forward to the fluff.

**Kommissar VonStompa of the Blood Axe Clan listened to his kommandoz scouting report and curled his lip, the pistons in his power claw hissed menacingly as the shears sliced against one another in anticipation of violence.

Hmm, well it's highly unnatural but I do love your artwork and kitbashing, even if I'm tempted to travel to Florida just to fight your pinkskinz with my ladz!

And now for something different.

Kinda.

I've started on my mob of diggaz a last night, and so far I have 5 of 10+ of them assembled. I really like how the digganob(the big one) came out; I actually made a klaw at a normal size for once too! Since this is a shootaboy squad, I'm using big shootaz instead of rokkit launchers, since Deffkoptaz are far more suited for ranged anti-armor anyway. Oddly enough, only the group-shot came out good. Silly camera.

As far as the progress on my battlewagon goes, I finished the killkannon turret and hard-top for it some time ago, but it's not significant enough of an update for me to take a photo of. I'll shoot it when I've at least finished the big shoota/rokkit turret for it.

Also, I'm going to try to update more, as I'm going to try to work on models more. 8D

Because we’re here,lad...

Nice work, love the use of low funds to build decent units and models.

"MOAR" he cries....

I love those little moments between the first kiss and the pepper spray...
