'Be redeemed through blood, saved through slaughter.' -Motto of the Tyrants of Asharzunipal
"Kil! Kil! Kil!"-Battlecry of the Tyrants
"1-800-GO-N-KILL" -Toll free hotline of the Tyrants

One of the defining features of the Tyrants is their use of campaign badges. Inspection by high-ranking Inquisitors has found campaign badges from Isstvaan IV to Terra to Asharzunipal, Asharzunipal being the most common. This is believed to be a direct mockery of the campaign badges that many Imperial Space Marine chapters use, and these campaign badges are shown on banners and on kneepads.

Colors: Though there are the defining colors of Khorne (Red, Brass, Black) there is no one uniform scheme that the Tyrants use.

At this point, you're thinking, "Okay dude seriously. Where are the pictures damnit!"

Now for the actual blog! There are a LOT of pictures. A lot.

Anyway. Here you are! Note that these are all still works in progress for the most part, but that's why this is a blog!

My WIP Chaos Lord. He is going to be riding a Juggernaut.

However until he is finished I am using a Chosen Captain. (Read: Wolf Lord with Terminator Armor. Yes, I am using the Spacewolves codex.)
From the left: Militron, Stirling Mortlock, Duncan Steel, Commander Flex Plexico, Max Planck, and Juan Rico. Note that Flex Plexico is the Chosen Captain.

A closer picture of Duncan Steel (center) and to the right, Commander Flex Plexico.

Duncan Steel's shoulderpad. He is a nasty fellow, renowned for his 'roid rage and his addiction to painkillers.

To the right, Juan Rico. One time, he...actually nevermind. This is a family friendly website.

A squad of 8 Khorne Legionnaires. Their squad name is "The BMFs." Nobody really knows why, nor does anyone want to find out. It probably stands for Bloody Mutated Freaks.
Their sergeant is Sonny Sixkiller and a Meltagunner whose name is Charles Bronson.

The sergeant, Sonny Sixkiller. He has an irrational hatred of all things feminine-he and his squad are often let loose on the Eldar for this very reason.

Gunner Bronson at the center. To his right is trooper Cendrillion. The one with the long hair and the sharp teeth.

Please leave feedback. : )

Not bad concept for a Berserker Warband good thing that your using the Space Wolves codex as a proxy as the new CSM codex has effectively neutered Cult lists and its not as fun playing marked armies anymore.

There are a lot and I mean a LOT of good conversions and models you can use as champions and the new Space Wolves/Chaos plastics are amazing plus a lot of gribblies that you can invent in the advent of Khorne lesser daemons.

All in all a fun army and a interesting project to be tracking one tip though get rid of those gawd awful metal Chaos Terminators plastics are the way

Thanks! As to the metal Terminators, I like them. Plus I got them for super cheap.

I'm not a big fan of the new plastic ones to be honest. Very little detail. I know because I've painted some for a friend. Oh and I'm not willing to go and buy MORE terminators.

Anyway, today I played a game against a friend.

Used 2 squads of 8 Legionnaires (Grey Hunters) in Rhinos, 2 squads of 4 Devastators (Long Fangs) with Missile Launchers, and 7 Chosen (Wolf Guard) with a Commander (Wolf Lord) in a 1000 pt. game against my friend who is using the BA codex for his chapter.

I won. Yes, I did. I got super lucky though. Blew up his Razorback's TL lascannon and a Furioso Dreadnought and most of a jump pack squad on my first turn.

Anyway, yeah. I will be posting more pictures soon.

Sounds cool

And the getting rid of the Terminators was only a suggestion keep the metal ones if its going to be more economical just they look so :(

I.e they havent dated well.....

The game result good on you with a Khorne army you used to be able to rack up some good attacks twenty Berserkers all charging get 2 attacks standard +2 again for the mark of khorne +1 another one for the charge thats 5 each. Roll em up insane amount of damage and death that was in 3rd edition 40k in 4th-5th they lost their wow factor and now are utterly useless.

Plus the frenzy roll was rather silly yes they are psychos but really would they go wandering off on a tangeant. it was rather funny to see this guy at my local FLGS (who was quite frankly a p**ck) all zerker 4th edition army go bimbling off all over the field then get their gak together and then next turn go bimble again...hilarious

I felt for him that he didint get the 2nd-3rd edition magic of a all cult army. I have fielded two Beserker armies now and one was in 3rd and one in 4th (The 4th ed experience id rather forget about) the 3rd edition experience was AMAZING.

I want MOAR pictures now my friend get to it.!

Wow, it's almost been a month since I last posted. Which is lame but I've been super busy. So sorry. I haven't had a lot of time to paint, either!

Anyway, here's what's new:

A squad of Khorne Legionnaires

A Khorne Marine gone berserk. The Tyrants of Asharzunipal normally put berserk marines together in suicidal assault squads to draw off attention from the main attack.

These two aspiring champions, Vladis Sargonier and Victus Pilsier were originally Aspiring Champions for my LatD army, may it rest in peace.

My Khorne Terminators have seen some more paint to them. This particular squad is named the Kobrakai.

This Terminator proudly displays the Tyrants of Asharzunipal's phone number on his shoulder.

I really like how his power cords turned out. They don't really look that great in this picture, though. Duncan Steel is in the background.

The last thing that most people ever see before going into combat with the deadly Kobrakai Terminators!

Some Khorne Legionnaires charge into a squad of the famed Imperial Army. Brother Zappa unfortunately didn't make it. It was his birthday.

There we go! : )

Thank you! I'm glad that someone gets my odd kind of humor!

Anyway, my birthday is coming up and I am wondering what I should get with all the money I am sure to receive from both my birthday and also from graduation presents.

Any thoughts? I want to buy some of the RT Chaos Marines and also maybe some RT Rhinos and Predators, but the new plastic (?) Bloodcrushers look really enticing. I plan on removing the Bloodletters and then putting Marines ontop of them to represent the Thunderwolf Cavalry. So damned cool!

If anyone has any suggestions, or more importantly any RT Chaos Marines they would be willing to part with, shoot me either a PM or post on here.

The blood crushers are plastic. But you'll have to wait till August.

Gonna do a little threadromancy. Long story short, my mom lost our digital camera and just recently found it, much to my excitement! : )

Anyway, just got in a bunch of the plastic RTB01 Marines and 4 of the Rogue Trader Chaos Marines. They're a little small but that's probably my only complaint!

First off, my RT Chaos entourage: 4 Marines and then 1 Terminator

A close up on 2 of them

A comparison with the new plastic Chaos Marines. Sure the RT one is shorter but it has loads more character and detail. I still don't know why Forgeworld doesn't produce these backpacks, I would buy them for every single Chaos marine I own, and I own at least 40!

A battle between Rogue Trader Chaos Marines and Imperial Space Marines. No matter who wins...we lose.

My RT Rhino. I really like the camouflage and how it turned out, I have been attempting to do it on my normal Marines.

Sooo many Marines! I got them for less than $20, too!

All of the bits that were included.

Well, I better get painting! Will update you guys in a couple of days hopefully. : )

Holy crap, it's been a while.
Well I've been at college and I didn't bring any of my models with me, so this is going to be a short update.

Here's a squad of the "Frenzied Four". They really hate people. (Note, this squad is still WIP)

One of the "Frenzied Four" and perhaps the one that puts the "Frenzon" in Frenzied is Srini Manhide

Another one of the "Frenzied Four" and definitely the creepiest is Durge (Note, he is still WIP)

A renegade Imperial Space Marine. I used one of the old Chaos warrior heads with a RT marine body. It worked out pretty well!

3 Imperial Space Marines, all in camo

Marines pouring out of a Rhino

Finally, my WIP Lord on Juggernaut

I like the yellow and the contrast of the armor with the actual Juggernaut.

As always, please vote! : )
And comment, please.

I absolutely love this thread. Subscribed. I'm also a Chaos player and the majority of my forces are 2nd ed or RT CSM miniatures. I have a thread where I have a lot of my old stuff profiled in my Death Guard. It's awesome seeing the past come alive in the present and play a pertinent role in current army lists.

Good work all around. Looking forward to seeing what you do next!

Thank you guys for the support!
I will go and check out your thread. RT (and to a certain extent, 2nd edition) miniatures have been (and will always be) my first love when it comes to 40k miniatures. Not as flashy or detailed, but loads of personality and that's what I'm a fan of.

Luckily, I am getting a job so you guys will soon be seeing tons more of RT Marines on this blog. : )

Nice work on those marines and the rhino. The camo pattern looks awesome. It looks like lava or fire or something. You could even use them as Chaos Space Maines and I'd buy it. They are just new recruits and don't have all their spiky meanie-faces yet

I, however, will proudly fight you with my shiny plastic terminators and 5th edition heroes. Of course, I am Dark Angels so I still have some old school stuff (like my ye olde ravenwing bikers from 3rd edition). I like the army contrasts though. The old chaos vs the new Dark Angels SMs. It makes it cool to see and, frankly, looks a lot more like how it SHOULD look according to the lore etc.

-VardenV2

PS I liked seeing those battle reports incorporated in there hehe. To be fair, that was my frist time using a counts as BA army haha. And yep, my Orks did put a little bit of a krumpin' on you that day. LOL. Fun times by all and keep up the good work!
