Decided to open up a fun little thread

I have been in this hobby for about 5-6 years....and ever since I was introduced to the world of Warhammer, I was hooked. Other than the gaming aspect of the hobby, I really enjoyed the painting and modeling. I would always strive to learn new things and to become even better.

My first ever model to paint was the demo mini's that they provided at the store. I received the Space Marine and for some reason wanted to paint him metal (not sure why ). I enjoyed it so much that I wanted one more (yes I know very selfish of me) to try and was given the "chaos warrior" like model....again went for the crazy metallic.

Funny enough I still have those two models sitting on my shelf side by side and just told myself how much time has passed by and the way things have change when it comes to painting mini's.

So why not share your first experience on the first mini you painted and how it has inspired you through your hobby

Here is my first painted mini.

I was wanting to do some kind of crazy camo on the skin in hews of orange. You cant tell but there is camo on the pants too.

Been doing this over a year now and I have improved a little.

I actually repainted this fella and he has a few pics in my gallery.

Ouze on GW: "I'd like to be like, hey baby, you're a freak but you just got too much crazy going on, and I don't hook up with bunny boilers. But then Necrons are going to come out, and I'm going to be like damn girl, and then next thing you know, it's angry sex time again.

It's complicated."

My first model, painted about seven-eight years ago.

At least I think it is my first. I find it hard to remember, but at least it is one model I can't remember for how long I've had it.

I haven't put a picture up but, back in 1999 when I was 4 or 5 I entered a GW painting competition and I painted a space marine, can't remember the colour but i painted craters onto his base

Well, I ended up winning 3 metal termagants so I painted them in pink, green and purple with no undercoating, you can imagine the result

My first mini was some random batch of sci-fi figures my dad had lying around. I was 6 or 7, and I basically painted them in one color and called it done.

I painted a cold one knight to completion. I'd put paint on some fire warriors, but never finished them. So my first model painted hasn't ever been played.

My first model was a hooded LotR guy with a scythe. I got it when I was like 6 when me and my older brother went into the local GW store (which is closed now) and they gave us two free models, already primed black. My brother got a Warhammer archer of some sort. They told us to come back the next day to paint the model, but despite our begging, my mom wouldn't let us go.
I don't have any pictures, sorry, but I can assure you it's crap.
