Well the title says it all, but anyway I have a slight dilemma and that is what to use as lesser daemons for my Iron warriors.I have contemplated using fantasy flagellants, ghouls, zombies and even grave guard. But none of these have hit the nail on the head for me(or a kit bash of them),as I am going more in the way of the lost and the dammed.

anywho I want to know what people are using for alternative lesser daemons or if they have any ideas on the matter?

well, I personally think the vampire count plastic ghouls would be the best choice. But some other alternatives I had come up with were. Skeletons with some sort of goop on them (water effects maybe), so they look like a skeleton in slime. gnoblars with little horns and wings (so they look like little imps). Green stuff made to look like a somewhat shapeless form, but having certain parts such as arms and such made from Chaos space marine appendages (kind of like a smoke creature with one arm or something. I was thinking they'd be the remnants of possessed marines armor coming alive again.) Beast men would be cool, and very Lost and the Damned as well. For Iron warriors though, I feel like you'd want some sort of metal looking creatures, not sure exactly what that would be persay, but maybe someone else could think of something.

Hope that helps!! And good luck!

Wood elf Dryads. You can choose not to use some of the branches, giving them a sleek look. Painted in a suitably dark scheme, they make very cool looking daemons.

Daemonhunters 1000 points (painted)

I'll second the Dryads. They have a wonderful look that lends itself to any sort of Daemon without obviously being a specific one.

If you're rich, you could use furies. Maybe paint em silver or something?

The problem with Furies is that they're Furies: It's like using Bloodletters.

I this is your chance to go completely mental.
Think chaos servitors or Soulgrinders on a smaller scale.
A mix of lots of guitar wired, clampy bionic, spider scutttling, tank tracked, servo skull floaty, power shearing cyborg demon madness.
Just anything that looks like it could be helping out in the forge.
Just get digging in you bits box, chop up some models, add some pistons, spikes and wires and have fun.

This. I would love to do something like this too. Get yourself some techpriests, servitors, wire and bitz and go on a converting rampage (that's what I will do!)
Ork Buzzsaw, servoharness and servoarms, the chirurgeon backpack... And I first thought there were no possibilities of IW daemons...
Also, you can search for Dark Mechanicus for more inspiration.

Just after doing some scanning of the net and have decided to do a kit bash of necron warriors and empire flagellants.

I reckon with a bit of coaxing they could mesh quite well(I think), but anyway this might work for some kind of dark mechanicus or servitors.

this should be a fun project, but what do you think would this even look good.

The old necromunda pit slaves and some servitors. Add greenstuff, guitar wire and spare time.

Wait, I know! Cryx models! Mechanithralls or bane thralls, for example.
Or too necrony? Well, just replace the heads then!
Lazy bastards...

I haven't though of cryx before and those mechanithralls look near perfect.Although the bane thrall is far more impressive but a little expensive.

But I might want to swap some hands around and give a few robes but they are definitely the way I want to go.

The only thing I need is a small unit of something else to bring me up to a 10+ man squad(as mechithralls are sold as units of six.)

So any suggestions?

I was actually going to use Flayed Ones as my Lesser Daemons for my Iron Warriors army... but I ended up not using them.

Looking at the Mechanithralls from the Cryx makes me want to change my mind though!

The idea of ''robo-zombies'' is the way I want to go,but the only gripe I have with PP models is that if I buy two boxes of mechanithralls there mightn't be enough diversity, hence why I asked if there was a different box that would mesh with them so i could have a unique looking squad of ''robo-zombies''.

If I may be so bold as to ask, has anyone ever done anything like this, dark mech/evil cyborgs or other wise I would like to know of there experiences.

They do indeed look amazing. Very inspirating.

By the way, i just remembered http://www.shop.microartstudio.com/iron-brotherhood-c-36_43.html]this miniatures from Micro Art, which I believe are pretty suitable for Dark mechanicus daemons.

If you're willing to go outside the GW range, there's always some of the Oni miniature range form AT-43 (http://www.figouz.net/AT-43/Army_Box_Oni.php) that look suitably tech/zombie/demon like.

just went around looking at the Iron brotherhood models and saw a few thing that piqued my interest

These seem to be a few model that are the way I would like to go in(maybe even buy) but would like to stick to GW as best as possible(if possible) their models don't seem to be quite what I want and would need a level of green stuffing far greater than what I have done.

maybe these

or these

and possibly these

@The Fallen Raven:

Hmmmmm those ''ghouls'' do look very ''lost and the damned'' which was the original way I was going,so thats one more to add to the list of potential subjects.

what if I did something similar to the ''Zanatorian Deathstalkers'' but I used some sort of hammer instead of a sword(I am open to different ideas for weapons)

Maybe these from GW http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat300005a&prodId=prod1400033

and they will share much the same attributes as the ''Zanatorian Deathstalkers'' necron bodies, guitar wire, cloaks etc.

I do give credit to Proiteus for building these models
[Thumb - hammersmk2.jpg]
or perhaps the maxmini hammers
