Checked all the posts and found some interesting conversions but see if this helps. Take original Basilisk model and cut off the barrel just at the thickest diameter just behind where the flash shield would cover. Carefully trim off the other end at the recoil suppressor. Cut the remaining entire barrel on the other side of the recoil support. I trimmed the support so it could handle the larger diameter "storm sword" barrel. I trimmed the "SS"'s barrel length to remove the four slots on the end. Ensure you glue the remaining Basilisk halves of the gun and continue rounding out the support and check fit of barrel. I removed the end of the barrel just at the notch or groove cut into it. Leave some of the reduced diameter barrel sticking up. Clean and assemble the two halves of a Valkyrie multiple rocket pod and attach to end of SS barrel. Cut off end of manufactorum smoke stack, scrape/cut off the four round disks on the outside surface. Cut about a half-inch (12mm) length of polystyrene tubing that fits the barrel. See attached picture of end result and paper with picture of FW model. Note: already trimmed down blast shield. Took a little while to figure this one out and the parts are not exactly normal but it was like they were all made for each other. Any better suggestions on parts for this build? Hope this helps, I wanted one of these to try out and now I am about an hour away from it at least being assembled.

That is fantastic work. Well done indeed sir! Were you hit by a eureka moment or did you grind through a pile of bits before hitting this?

Thanks for the feedback all, I like to make things look right not "make do" if I was REALLY anal I would have trimmed the smoke-stack end down to 2mm before gluing on the styrene tube and at least the end would look EXACTLY like the FG one.
BTW: I trimmed the inside of the blast shield right to the supports so it was a rectangular opening like the kit, not the oval of the basilisk, left about 1/4" of the oval right at the square bit for the bottom recoil tubes (trimmed those guys down too, the long length looked odd).
The real pain will be making a crew compartment that will not look gimped. Thoughts on this or links would be appreciated, I really want to make it rather than buy (I am strange that way).
I tend to repair things and have an engineering background so my "gift" is remembering all the bits I come across and their approximate dimensions.
I just needed a good picture of the gun (not many out there) and tried to remember anything with those shapes and sizes.
I am glad that GW likes to use standard dimensions so it all went together due to their standardization and less "genius" from me.
Now if only I can use this trick memory for real day to day stuff; I am your man for figuring out bits for stuff and serious hack and slash of kits but would never remember your name or know if I brushed my teeth this morning...
Thanks again, I have a gallery of other conversions (I have many more but the pictures and uploads are taking time) please point me to anything else that looks cool.

Still feel a bit like I was lucky with how it turned out. I am undecided on shaving off the two bits that stick out from multiple missile launcher section or strip of the eagle (keep the bolts sticking out) and get some kind of scroll placard on each side to name the gun.
I hope to get similarly inspired for the Colossus.
Having the same problem with the Colossus, not many good pictures out there to get a handle on how it looks.
The freaky loading arm just looks so wrong for a war machine but I guess it helps make it believable as a front loaded gun (It is front loaded right?).
Just one big freaking mortar, which looks like it really gets cozy with the crew driving the beast.
I am certain that the old SM vindicator gun is close to the right size or at the very least steal the recoil cylinders since they look perfect.
The tube is getting big enough to warrant a hardware store plumbing supply trip.
Please look me up and post your similar conversions, it will make me feel warm and fuzzy inside (I like it better if you improve on the design).
Thanks all.

Nice, but unless you have the parts, its ...expensive. Any way to convert those bitz into plasticard sizes for everyone?

Your work got me started thinking on the Colossus. All you really need is a box with a hatch for the breech (although traditionally mortars a muzzle-loaded, I'm pretty sure the Colossus loads via a breech hatch), plasticard tubes of two sizes for the muzzle, some fort of elevating mechanism and frame, and tubes for the recoil/equilibrators. Yes you can build the loading arm via plasticard, or you can model three crewmen loading the shell with a tray, or just leave it off in typical GW style. The other parts on the sides don't seem to serve any real purpose other than more resin for you to have to buy, but I would have to get a closer look at the model to be 100% sure.
I would leave the bits on the side of the RL pod on; they add character.

Nice work. As pointed out your bits cost might be approaching the FW bare bones Medusa gun and shield, but personally I appreciate a good kit bash.

I did a Colossus with some PVC pipe, a coupling for the business end and some sheet plastic to build a box around the thing. I dispensed with the loader arm altogether... will just put an Ogryn next to an ammo cart for loading scenes. The Imperium wouldn't waste good tech where good old fashioned brute force would do.
Will post pics in a separate thread.

I agree that the parts are not exactly something you would buy full kits to get them, BUT if you are into imperial guard the odds are good you would have bought each of these things.
Sizes, limited plastic supply where I am at so (though I do hold a fair bit at home) I am unsure where to start. I KNOW I could do a better job if a good supply of plastic was available but this is all about speed, laziness and using almost all GW parts to make it. It just feels good...
