Hi there!

While I'm working on the start of my IG, i noticed that the Imperial Guard Vostroyan Snipers are about 2/4 mm taller then the new plastic cadian shock troops.
Is this right or am I just seeying things?

No it's not at all, I just think it looks a bit off and was wondering why GW did this.

The Cadian plastics are generally far too tall and bulky for a normal human in 40k - the forgeworld IG and the old metal IG are much more realistic scales. I'm surprised that the Vostroyans are even bigger....

Well these models don't have hats. In fact these are the models;

They do stand up a little more thanks to the pose, but even then they seem a bit more larger than the plastics.

Well, as promised here some pictures. all of them are WIP but it shows my scheme and most importantly, it shows the height difference.

Also tried to make weathered copper with a 50:50 mix Shining Gold/Scorched brown and added a wash of hawks turqouise

Must be that the Firstborn are of a higher breedingstock than the Cadians, thus resulting in their taller stature.

Well they are kinda standing on a rock, but that gas mask is awesome!

The guy with the mask standing on some rubble with his left leg has his right foot elevated from the ground. If you glued him closer to the base, it would make him shorter, yeah?

The whole Vostroyan range is considerably larger than plastic cadians, Snipers are no exception. I don't know why it is like this, but it surely makes conversion between ranges difficult.

Because they're metal? Resin is usually smaller.

Cadians have very short legs. The vostroyans look like they've got more reasonably sized legs.
