Okay been awhile since I got to get crazy with conversions so now that Im stuck at Camp Lejeune, NC I have lots of free time to get wild...sigh...with minis. Okay the theme of this army is Adeptus Mechanicus. Why orks? Well...please dont ask, I dont have a real answer. I wanted to try a different army, not just theme and the orks are wacky, got some weird inventions, so there you go. Before anyone asks or gets fluff lawyer, dont, Ive already consulted and Ive been assured by the powers that be it is acceptable.

So what you have is the 281st Adepticus Mechanicus Reclamation Fleet. Headed by the insa...12th level intellect Arch-Magos McGyer-7 who is on a century long reclamation crusade through the Imperium. Yes the Imperium has repo-men. So this is a work in progress when I need a break from my Gamesday "Army on Parade" and other entries. Hope you enjoy.

So first up is the Arch-Magos himself and his trusty squat...I mean abhuman little big mek.

Much much more to come later.

Guess I should show another image huh?

Here is the first test run of my deff dreads. Filed down all the ork symbols, a lot of the spikes and blades. Added a some imperial icons around the body (coming in later pictures).

Here is a few more pics before I get some sleepy time. The first is a pic of the little big mek's Kustom Mega Blasta. The second is my test fit for my Boss Snikrot conversion. Everything in the army so far still needs work with green stuff and plastic card so please bear with me.

I just found the Inquisitor list, and it allows so much fun modeling option. I love where your going with this.

Where did the Arch-Magos' blade tentacles come from?

I really like the pose on "counts as" Snikrot.... you are going to swap that gun out for a choppa though, right?

Make the Necron head eyes biger, and maybe cut off the jaw, looks too Necron-y at the moment. Otherwise, love the concept and models and cocur with the winning of the internets.

1) the base model for snikrot is from the Anima Tactics game. Dont remember the models name...I think fantasy flight games puts the mini out.

2)The Arch-Magos blades and tentacles are off the stompa kit. I think the tentacles/hoses are power lines and the blades attach to the close combat weapon of the stompa. Yes I will remove the pistol.

3)Im still working on the snikrot, I have a lot of modelling to do with the head and I like your suggestion. I will take it into consideration.

As promised (not actually) here is my first squadron of Killa Kans. Im hoping to start on cleaning up the models shown today, so I can get a fresh coat of paint on them by the weekend, maybe before my Apocalypse game. If anyone has ideas on how to make them more Imperial then ork, please chime in.

here is a thought for your fluff defence. why not incorperate the killa kans and deff dreads as early proto types of dreadnoughts that were either lost or scrapped and have been reclaimed. that way they can still be incorperated into the imperium and they do have some simmilarities to modern dreads.

Here is a new update…my scratch converted Killa Kan. I failed to work on snikrot… so no update for him just yet. I was in build something mode last night.

If you want to increase the Imperial-ness of the dread/kans, perhaps some partial armor over the pistons and wires would help. Think of a SM dread's legs - wires and pistons are visible near the joints, but the shin armor gives it a smoother, more bulked out appearance. Or look at the DCCW arm - flat, angled plates for the shoulder, then a nubbly techno-gubbin joint, then smooth, round plates near the 'hand' end. The blend (or alternation or combination, if you prefer) of smooth armor and textured inner workings is, to my mind, very Imperial.

the ork dread is very nice. i also think oyu necron / imperial model is my fave when they are painted the shoudl be pretty kool.

"Straight Fething Silver" Tanith first and only

I have a reputation, Modile, a reputation as a fair, honest man who treats his soldiers well and supports them in the face of darkness. Potentially, that reputation makes me soft. It seems I understand failure and forgive it. Some, like Kowle, believe me to be a weak commissar, not prepared to take the action my rank demands. Not prepared to enforce field discipline where I see it failing. I am an Imperial commissar. I will enflame the weak, support the wavering, guide the lost. I will be all things to all men who need me. But I will also punish without hesitation the weak, the incompetent, and the treasonous.
I am a Commissar. I am empowered to deliver justice wherever I see it lacking. I am empowered to punish cowardice. I am granted the gift of total authority to judge, in the name of the Emperor, on the field of combat.

Next thing up, once I get a break at work, is to show the full Kommando squad and my WIP for the battlewagon that the WIP meganobz will drive around in. Ive also got WIP of grotz and big gunz. I think thats all for now, until I can purchase one more deff dred. I do have some WIP on warbuggies but they unfortunatley will remain top secret squirrel like until after games day. One is entry for Golden Demon, the other is entry for the vehicle conversion contest.

I will try and post pics tonight but I have to finish a couple more conversions for my nids army for the 'ard boyz this coming weekend.

Oh, I will start with painting this week also on the Big Mek Jr. as my paint scheme basis, though no ideas on color scheme.

Guess I have a sec to make a quick update. Here is the WIP for my Big Gunz teams. The first gun is my Kannon, the other is still in construction. I have also included the two grot teams, which are WIP.

Yes that is the CAT robot. Here is an update. I didnt want to buy another deff dread but didnt need 4 killa kans so I took the converted one and created this WIP. I still have some work to do:

Legs need to be repositioned, fill in gaps, added bits and some hoses.
