Short introduction:
About 6 months ago me and my friend started our armys. I'm a total newcomer when it comes to painting models, Hower did some WH40K about 14 years ago. We're both huge fans of the Dawn of War games, and I love reading 40k novels. I'm playing the Iron Warriors and Hower is playing Orks

So now that you know where we're coming from, lets go straight to the blog. Since both me and Hower are newcomers to this hobby and we've barley grasped the rules yet, we'll be using this blog for some feedback on our painting, asking about rules and some battle reports from our epic battles!

Lets start with my army


As you may beable to tell, I basicly have one squad of each chaos unit, but when I started the army I wanted it to be Chaos Undivided as per Iron warriors fluf. But since I'm new to this hobby I couldn't resist buying cool units like the possessed (and my little sister bought me the forgeworld nurgle dreadnought), so atm the fluff for my army is kinda up in the air. I'm going to add a terminator sorcerer to this army soon and have him be like the puppet master behind the scenes, which would explain why you can find possessed marines and so despite my Warsmiths best efforts.

And speaking of possessed marines:


These are the guys I'm currently painting (even thought my terminators stands unpainted for the 2 month in a row -.-'), so I'll post progress when I got some.

You could rework (with a bit of greenstuffing/bitz) the possessed to represent a variety of the obliterator virus (counts as possessed or something else).

That would be in keeping with the IW fluff.

i am playing orks, with my made up Zmiles waaagh, alltho i have not made Zmile yet.. (he's is a warboss in megarmor) Zmile, is crazy. Big smiling helmet presents him well. He fancies gear. therefor loot and rebuild to mock the humeis.
So the waaagh has a mixed style of looted dakka and lots of boys.

Wanted to use the obliterator virus more, hade a idee to convert a techpriest into an obliterator, putting lots of weapons and so on mechanic arms, but techmarines are pretty expensive so -.-

Note that we dont play with any of GW game setups, we just let the game continue until one side is totaly destroyed.

hehe yeah. I really thought i was screwed there. This game was his first with berserkers, raptors and possesed so. otherwise if he'd had alot of ranged and perhaps a dreadnougt.

Personally i loved the ending. i mean damn that havoc squad. If i would dice poorly there id lose for sure.
Mmh.. Spraying shots down the stairs while crazed orcs make their way through flying ork bodies and gore.

Ah, the whole blog wont be battle reports, we just wanted to post it. We'll be focusing on the painting from now on

Little update: i've been checking for what i need in my army ( http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/294334.page )
So i've started with the Lootas, now. i didnt have any loota parts. But i had alot of gubbins and gunz from AoBR, Leman Russ and boys pakages.
It was a fun conversion,
next up will be "looted landspeeder" or something alike as deffkoptas! might get a Mek aswell.

Small update from chaos, I've been working on my HQ, so here are some WIP shots of my Terminator Lord and Sorcerer


I'm modeling him after The Sanguinor, so he'll be floating just above the ground like he's summoning the powers of chaos. I'll post fluff soon explaning why I have a sorcerer among my Iron warriors soon. Seems like this one will be my favorite model very soon =)



Terminator Lord with Lightning Claws, still missing a shoulder pad, will add it as soon as I get my box of terminators. Only thing I did was give him a berzerkers head, other than that it's as standard as you get

one night i was feeling a bit exhausted after school, so i though, lets do some hoby stuff and i have allways wanted a Big Mek.. but no parts..
SO! i looked at his stats which were like a Nob, so i took a AoBR nob body, took some other grubbins and leftover spurs!

Not sure if anyone's mentioned it, but Storm of Iron features Iron Warriors with a Khorne worshiping Captain and his Bezerkers as part of the Grand Company.

The same could be true of other groups of IWs.

Awesome conversion dude! when it's orks it's hard to get it wrong, just stick as much gubinz on it and call it a day

Read that novel, great stuff! Don't know where I read it, but I've heard somewhere that the Iron Warriors doesn't view the gods of chaos as gods, but rather as powerful presences and inspiration. Thats how my Iron Warriors are atleast, they prefer boltguns and siege weapons over demons and magic. But 10'000 years of warfare and lots to much time in the warp has to screw with your warriors in some way, so it's not strange that some would give themselfs to the gods. Still, my warsmith prefer not to involve the gods in warfare, but he's not so stupid as to throw away mad killer with 5WS ;P

As for the sorcerer in my army (who will be finished ones I get some more legs), the Warsmith in Storm of Iron also had one as a adviser who read the warp for him, and my sorcerer basicly has the same roll.

Little WIP update on my sorcerer





This is how he'll look, still need to work alittle on the green stuff and make a base that can levitate him.

Any advice on how to make the legs look better would be awesome, cause it's my first time using green stuff and I'm basicly lost -.-'
