I bought this Storm Raven off ebay same store where I got my thunderwolves: http://cgi.ebay.com/Stormraven-Gunship-/190394447017?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2c5464b4a9

Its relatively cheaper than chopping multiple vehicles to create one AND... IT COMES WITH SIX (6) FREE DISC MAGNETS FOR WEAPONS!!! Now I don't have to scour the net again just to magnetize my vehicle.

The main color is already painted. Since it's BA I didn't plan on making it any other color other than red. The basics are already painted, only the dark grey shadow was added to enhance the paneling detail.

This to add:

1. Lighter red slight highlight.
2. burn streaks
3. weapon details
4. Engine, thrusters and landing gear colors.
5. Wing art (since I don't own this mini alone we are going back and forth just deciding on wing art. I would like to stray from the usual "wings" art but its still on the table. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated)

Here's a picture of the whole thing. I apologize the lighting is not what I would want it to be. (and my camera still sucks!)

Here are close up pictures to get a better idea of the details.

Let me know what you guys think!

Interesting, I actually don't mind the model that much. How large is it?

It's as big as a Valkyrie and also uses an oval base.

@ everyone

Thanks guys! I like the model too. I've seen too many of the more usual "thunder hawk" conversions. I'm still deciding if I should do pin striping or do a spray painted wing art. I'll try to complete the painting by tomorrow but post as much pictures as possible.

Very nice. If I saw that coming out when you fight me I'd be like' you win' nice job.

"Straight Fething Silver" Tanith first and only

I have a reputation, Modile, a reputation as a fair, honest man who treats his soldiers well and supports them in the face of darkness. Potentially, that reputation makes me soft. It seems I understand failure and forgive it. Some, like Kowle, believe me to be a weak commissar, not prepared to take the action my rank demands. Not prepared to enforce field discipline where I see it failing. I am an Imperial commissar. I will enflame the weak, support the wavering, guide the lost. I will be all things to all men who need me. But I will also punish without hesitation the weak, the incompetent, and the treasonous.
I am a Commissar. I am empowered to deliver justice wherever I see it lacking. I am empowered to punish cowardice. I am granted the gift of total authority to judge, in the name of the Emperor, on the field of combat.

Runnin up on ya.

You must have saved on shipping since it's in the same country you are.

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do

They used to have a store on our local ebay, its where I got my wolves and Hydra turret. I still pay for my stuff via paypal, but I can opt to meet them for a product (I have met with them before) but in most cases its sent by our local courier (LBC) so its waaaay cheaper. I've also traded with them our painting services (which they post online) for 4 sets of the same product. Which we also paint and then sell to various clients so its a win-win.

If its local its cheap, if its imported, expect that it wont. Its also the main reason why I've only bought from Forgeworld once and made sure I bought enough to make the shipment free.

@ Young_Logan

I wanted to do more conversions (i.e. longer barrel weapons etc.) but it might risk our ability to sell the painted product and I wanted to keep it neutral. Our local patrons seem to like the design enough so why mess with what works (we usually just do painting services but we can do conversions)... unless of course they ask specifically to change it in which case its also free unless its a drastic conversion.

Alas, this Storm Raven is bought and paid for. Good news is we have new storm ravens. Some of which we colored to look exactly like this. Why, well our client requested a basic paint job, no streak marks, no wing art (I think they want to do it themselves). So what I'm going to be posting here is what our storm raven looks with just the basics done.

We already began putting burn marks through the vent before we got the new instructions but they were okay with it since it was very subtle.

I usually charge about $30 to $40 for a paintjob for large vehicles. Been charging it for quite awhile now although I don't know if its fair or not. Let me know what you think.
