A friend of mine (black shirt at GW in MD) is leaving to go work in the bunker in Memphis. This Saturday we're having a big Apoc battle as a going away event in our GW. My son and I wanted to give him something as a gift. What better gift then a Chaos Doomsday device for his army. We didn't have much time so it's kind of thrown together but I'm pretty happy with the results.

We're going to frame the data sheet for the device after my son signs it and we'll give it to him at the game.......after we use it of course!

Incorporating the Chaos Star was an awesome idea.

It looks like one of those capsules from a .75 cents twist toy things out front of Wal-Mart and Grocery stores, which is very ingenious! It looks a little top heavy for my tastes, but hey, it definitely looks like it'll wipe out like 15 city blocks and all the dudes therein! Lets get painted pictures!

I like it as well. That big, curved, featureless surface is going to be a hoot to paint I imagine.

I assume most of it is plasticard? What's the little electro-pole sticking off the side there? I don't recognize it at all...

A minor detail that I like (whether or not it's intentional)... the dome has little spots around the rim where it looks welded on. Adds a whole layer of cool.

Thanks all! I don't think I will get to paint this one. I don't have time to paint it before Saturday and I'm not sure when he's leaving next week for Memphis. I am building two more for my son and I to use for our chaos army....(Fabius as an HQ with two units of Berzerkers with mods on the head and assault weapon arm for starters, it's only 750 points for now).

The base is 3 CD/DVD's. The chaos symbol is Plastruct shapes and sheet. The middle structure is a GW paint pot with plasticard and added bolts. The top is a .75 crap toy container. The lid was taken off turned upside down and glued to the top. The rest of the bits came out of the bitz box. The weld line was a test to see how it would look and I'm happy with it so the weld line goes all the way around the dome now.

We'll be using it this Saturday and I'll take some game pics and post em here Sat night. I'll get my two going and post up some more pics.

Just remember to make ridiculous demands before using it. Last game I had in a tournament a player brought a doomsday device and demands a statue the size of the statue of liberty be made in his image out of cheese IIRC

Hehehehe, yeah we're trying to come up with a list of demands in case it doesn't go off for a few turns. I think I'll steal that one!
