Hey everyone!

So, I'm planning on building a kustom Deffrolla for my Kustom BattleWagons. The Deffrolla part itself is pretty easy, just grab some PVC Pipe of the appropriate size. The 'Ard Bits are building the End-Cap that will cover the hollow ends of the PVC pipe (because it's circular, and I'm not sure if it will be easy to cut out of Plasticard. Also, the circular bits that extend out to hook into the arm bits, and the Arm itself.

I do have some PLasticard Tubing that will work for attaching the end-cap to the arm.

I also have a few ideas of how I could build the arm, but I thought I would make a post here and see if anyone has some easy ways to do this, since I only have 1 day to finish up these Deffrollas and a few other things before the 'Ard Boyz Tournament on Saturday.

Do you have files or sandpaper? If so, just trace the end of your PVC pipe directly onto the plasticard, cut it out as best you can (erring on the side of too large, which is far easier to fix). Then just glue it on and file/sand around the edge until it's flush. A long strip of plasticard can be wrapped around as reinforcing banding that will enhance the look, as well as covering up minor imperfections in the join. End-cap problem solved.

I haven't built any deffrollas, so I can only suggest the method I would hypothetically use, myself, for the attachment - doodle up a plan, eyeball things as best you can, then bodge something together and tweak it until it works or you're forced to scrap it.

If your using PVC pipe then use either 1 1/2" or 2"
You can buy something called a rodding access, which is simply an end cap for the pipe. (get the cap the same size as the pipe)
The end caps will set you back about £1-£2 each, so nothing really, and they have a studded edge.

I used some plastic tubes and bits for the axle, and used sprue pieces for the armature. Still looks kinda scrawny to me (gotta add some gubinz to beef it up). I used a spool from a shipping lable printer and did what oadie suggested with tracing and plastic strips. Here's some pics for inspiration:

If you have a shotgun and a roll of duct tape, you can solve any problem

The diameter of the deffrolla on the GW battlewagon accessory sprue is actually closer to 1.25". Anything larger is tough to fit into the proper length of the wagon plus rolla. The distance, center to center, from the mounting points on the wagon to axle of the rolla should be 2.125". The arm should have a bend in it to clear the front wheels, just remember the center to center dimension.

I cut bits of sprue up and glued them to the roller to simulate spikes, simple and cheap. Good luck in the time remaining. The orks will rule the universe! Or at least go fast and blow things up!

If more of us valued food and cheer and 40K over hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.

I used two 40mm bases to make the end caps. I made plasticard tusks for the arms, which I then bitzed with worky bits - but my BW isn't a stock model .

A pic should make things clearer:
