I think they look really weird just floating up there, on either pillar. I guess 1 is better. Imo they need some sort of decorative base of their own and probably closer to the ground.

If you're clever with a knife and green stuff you could even put them inside the pillars, that way they would look like they were carved from the pillar instead of having been added later.

It has been varified by John Hurt that the Ultramarines are indeed the greatest space marine chapter.

If you're still working on it, I my votes for 1A, but with a slight change. Move the statues down a brick so that their bases are lined up with that narrow joint. Then, fill in the gap between their bases and the column, and put a simple curved arch underneath so that they look like they're being supported.

I would raise them slighty rather than lower them.

One solution would be quite simple and that is to modify the figures' bases into a capitol on some pillastersl.

Alternatively pop them on the topmost pinnacles. This would give them a proper capitol to stand on and better incorporate them into the architecture. Unlessyou do something like this they will look a bit odd as mentioned above.

The tops of the flying buttresses would be better than half way up them , but would only have stautuary on them if there was some on the central pillars.

To be honest the scale of the figures is looking too large,
and I would use some LoTR figures.

Sorry if that sounds like gobbledygook, or even gobbledygak, am thinking aloud.

the Problem with placing them on top is the open channel in the back.
see the pic "back".
i'm going to finish the back "deck" and some other stages, then i'll revisit this thread with newer pics.

You know i first thought, man putting them in the pillars would be a chore. Then i looked at it for a bit and realized that it may not be as hard as it seems. You could just cut them down and have the statues in the middle of them, almost like the were sculpted as part of the pillar. Or you could just cut a groove out of them with a hack saw and they would fit in without much of a gap. It may be different to look at them in person but i think it may not be too tough.

Greenstuff
don't come that, "haven't got the skill" nonsense!

Looking at the way the building is going together suggests that you have modelling ability

A cloak wouls be fairly straight forward as there will be no need to have it billowing. Just a few simple folds. So it would be an ideal project for getting used to handling GS

Possibly.
It is a Pegasus kit.
Despite the typo it says so in the title, "Pegaaus Building and Statue Placement?"
