Hello there. I have spent a good amount of time crusing these forums and am majorly impressed with some of the talented painters and modelers out there!

I have been a GW enthusiast for close to 15 years and I love to play the game. Sure I have a bunch of painted armies but I never really got into doing more than "table top" quality. I decided that I wanted to try to make a new marine list running out of the blood angels codex. Being a long time marine player I have plenty of marines. (Dark Angels) But instead of just running my already painted DA's I would like to fulfill a modelers dream of mine and make an Adeptus Mechanicus themed army run from the blood angels codex. I have spent some time collecting marine chest and shoulder pads from the vehicle upgrade sprues and now am ready to have a go at it. I am not an extremely talented modeler/painter but am trying to up my skill and give this a whirl. The reason I decided to play a blood angels army is because of there ability to have a ton of vehicles (namely Baal predators and cheap rhinos for the assualt squads).

Anyways here is my first assualt squad assembled and since these pics I have sprayed them black. I am not going with the traditional maroon black red theme of the Aeptus Mech. but have decided to follow my own theme. BtW each and every marine in my list is going to have a hand made bionic or be a metal tech marine model

I still am working on fluff for these guys as truthfully these is no such thing as an adeptus mechanicus marine army in the story line.

Any ideas on a good chapter name? And or comments on the models them selves? There is a tourney at my FLGS in 2 weeks and my goal is to have this unit done for that event.

nice models, but if i may point out there is a mechanicus marine chapter but for the life of me i cannot remember their name at the moment. only thing i do remember about them is the inquisition found out and made them swear loyalty to the emperor

Iron Hands are AdMech-heavy, maybe you could design one of their successor chapter...

Ooh! thats a good idea. Why not just iron hands though? then you could fully utalise their awesome metal box set.

Well I thought about doing just the Iron Hands but I think their color scheme is well, boring. lol I just wanted to do something more personalized. I did how ever pick up a few of the iron hands box sets as to take advantage of the bionic limbs!

Thanks!! There basically just assualt marine legs that I repositioned when i cut them for bionics as to make them more "advancing".

I may suggest Iron Souls marines perhaps?

They are AdMech fanatic followers, IH sucessor, have a lot of bionics, and some fancy colour scheme.

Haha well yes i did need a bunch but i was able to pick up a lot of them online via trades and purchases from places like the bits barn.

A short update. I have done a healthy amount of base colors and plan to post some pics asap. As for now I have a lot more to do. Ironically for the question i asked about chapter ideas i actually was given a name from my fiance! An avid non gamer who knows nothing about warhammer.

They are the Deciples of Metal.

I love admech armies too and I cant wait to see some Deciples of Metal painted and done!

Hello!!!

Ok so finally here are the first pics of my very first complete unit for the Disciples of Metal!!

It took me several more days to complete these as planned due to being very busy with basically everything! I am getting married in october and who woulda thought there could be stuff that would inhibit my gaming?? hmm.

Ok so like i said here is the first unit. Unfortunately I have an very cruddy older digital camera and it takes aweful pics. I am a fan of the gw washes and very subtle hardline highlighting and the dim lighting and bad camera make it very hard to see any detail, but i promise there is alot more there in real life! lol

I plan to do he next few units slowly and with progress pics but this unit i just wanted to finish to see how they came out. Next up on my list are as follows: A Rhino (they need a ride for goodness sake), A librarian (As i do need a commander), and a baal pred (just too cool not to include).

Well as always any questions/comments and feedback are always welcomed. I hope you all like these as much as i do

hmm cool idea and for a chapter name mybe the Iron Lords other wise cool stuff.

Iron Lords is a chapter already. Their color scheme is black with red leg armor, except black feet and knees.

I like it but not the heads they look abit... Out of place in terms of colours

I see what your saying about the heads, but i attribute that alot to the pics as the models grey armour is alot lighter than the pics show so its not as like BLAM GOLD!

But on a separate note when has a marines color scheme ever been well you know... seeming right? Imperial fists... Yellow and red? Really? lol terrible colors for battle haha

I think your gold could have a wash of devlan mud or something to darken it, and bring out the detail on the heads.

Other than that, i think they models look great.

Hmm ok I actually did them in 2 layers of watered down shining gold then i did a heavy wash of devlan. Maybe another? THen i hardlined them back up with shinging gold.

There is even a codex chapter, Praetors of Orepheus i think, that are Mechanicus heavy and they descended from the Ultramarines.

Love the idea behind the army, very unique and challenging concept. What are the plans for the future? Perhaps a Grand Master Tech-marine or improved vehicles?

The Mentor legion are used by the High Lords to try out new war-gear, maybe the Disciples could have a similar function but against the High Lords wishes?

As for the helmets, sorry but I have to add a +1 to the 'not quite sure pile', don't get me wrong the contrast looks good but perhaps using a non-metallic colour. LB does a seriously wicked tutorial on weathering metals. Perhaps add some patina to the helmets or what I think would be quite cool would be rusted/rust coloured helmets.

Just some ideas and I hope I have rambled too much.
