Unfortunately, the tape on the box you used as a background has created a glare which makes the models a little indistinct. Plasma gunner looks pretty cool though.

I mean just look at the recent bumbling acts of marketing childishness we've seen in just the past year! Iron Man 2. All the trailers, previews, interviews, Comi-Con panels, tie-ins with burger joints and whatnot. None of that should have happened. The real way to market a movie like Iron Man 2 is to not tell anyone you're making it until a week before its release and then BAM, you hit 'em with the movie. You get everyone to sign NDA's that are punishable by forfeiture of all the person's assets and/or the death penalty, you hire hitmen to kill journalists that sneak in to take photos, you threaten local towns with forced sterilisation should they blab that something's filming in their town, and then then you say nothing about the movie at all and, in fact, even go so far as to deny you're making it.
Avatar. Another great example. All that hype about it being the most expensive movie ever made, the genius of the special effects, and so on. James Cameron should have denied he ever intended to make a movie after Titanic and then zzzzzzzzaaaaaaappp, Avatar - Realease Date - 1 week from now!
That's the real way to market. None of this preview/trailer/hype bull gak. You say nothing, you deny everything, and you leave everyone guessing as to what the hell you're doing until you physically are no longer able to.
Think of just how much money Avatar and Iron Man 2 could have made if we'd never known they existed until they were already in theatres? Hundreds more. Possibly even hundreds of billions more. Why is GW the only one who gets this?

Ah well, my brother has all of his Thousand Sons assembled and will be painting most of them. However, I'm being allowed to paint his Aspiring Sorcerer and 1 or 2 1ksons. The Tzeentch CSM featured in my blog are for my brothers army but were converted by me. As well as these CSM, I'll be working on my 12 Fallen Angels and my 1500pts of 'nids in the near future. If you want to see a purely tzeentch marine army then you can check out my bro's blog (his username is Lord of Change).

nice stuff, personally I'd've turned the champ's head a little more to look directly along the staff, but then again personally I would've gone slaaneshi anyway so what do I know . Good stuff, hope to see some of those 'nids soon.

I tried to position the head but annoyingly the horns seemed to prevent me from positioning fully in the right direction. Slaanesh would have been more interesting, but it's my bro's CSM army and he is obsessed with Tzeentch. I'll be posting some pics of the Aspiring Champion later this evening.
The nid's are starting to be painted. Unfortunately I managed to lose my first painted hormagaunt and I'm waiting for the spraypaint to dry on my second one.

They look cool. I'm so pleased that you posted pics of those cool objective markers. Are you going to post pictures of the terrain we've been building as well? EDIT: I thought your Cypher Wannabe had a sword? Or is it just the camera angle that means I can't see it?

I might take some pictures of the cardboard terrain. He does still have his sword. The camera angle means that you can't see it. Another small update. I finished painting the Chaos Icon objective marker. Yours Gathering Storm. EDIT: I would like some feedback on the Tyranid paint scheme. It will be the basic standard for all of my Gaunts and Gargoyles. Larger models will be painted in more detail (raveners, warriors, Trygon etc.) It's a simple and quick paint scheme an average of 5-10 mins painting time after spraypainting the entire model day-glow orange.

Nice objectives. 'Nid color scheme looks simple and effective, maybe could do with a darker wash around the joints for extra definition?

Thanks. I'll try to bring all of them to the GW on Sunday.
monkeytroll wrote:Nice objectives. 'Nid color scheme looks simple and effective, maybe could do with a darker wash around the joints for extra definition?
Thanks. The first objective was made from LR parts and the second one started out as some strange broken cross I found in my bitz box. I think your right I only gave this one a single wash of badab black rather that the two I used on my previous nid. I'm grateful that you pointed that out to me, I couldn't quite remember what was different from the previous test scheme (ie. the 'nid that managed to go missing 1/2 hour after being painted).
If it's nice weather at midday I'll try and take some pictures of my newest objectives (IED's and COD Booby Traps) without the flash.

At long last, un update. I've been busy painting and assembling two DP's over the last two days. One is a metal Daemon Prince which I aquired (in a broken form, without the right arm and left fingers) from another dakka member (blood reaper) and the other is the new Plastic Daemon Prince.
WiP Metal Daemon Prince (with the plastic additions)
I still need to paint the torso, the back, the arms and the wings (which are yet to be attched).
The Two Daemonic Princes
WiP Plastic Daemon Prince
largely un-painted.
Largely un-painted, a lot of work to do on it.
I still need to post the pictures of the new models I have painted.

Other than that, not much else, appart from finishing the metal/plastic DP hybrid. I'll try to get pics when I have some spare time.

Lookin' good, lookin' good. Only complaint I have is the photographs; Try taking them in front of a north facing window on a black/white background, with the flash off and the macro setting on. I would also recommend a good tripod. Other than that, nice stuff!

I normally try to take the pics in the sunshine but It was a quick pic (and there hasn't been much sun here ) since I wanted to showcase it for Disjointed Entity. I think I'll definately take your advice and get a tripod, I'm sure there must be at least one in the house.
(Taken in July when we actually had sun)
