GW amazes again. Price increase and pretty much the same models. Yay.

Looks about the same, but *much* easier to build!

No excuse.

The Chimera got an upgrade yet it didn't get any more expensive.

The Chimera did lose a sprue.

The loss of accessory sprue is acceptable given that many of the accessories were put into new Chimera sprue. In exchange to couple of lost accessories we got new turret weapon options.

Basilisk kit, however, is a total disappointment because it doesn't actually contain anything new. One could have already built the "new" Basilisk using the chimera chassis from Hellhound kit. I fail to understand why gun platform was not recut into one large sprue similar to other new tanks. Even if there had not been any new weapon options, the recut would have been understandable.

That place is the harsh dark future far left with only war left.

The Chimera didn't really lose anything. The main thing it lost from the accessory sprue was Track Guards, an upgrade Arby saw fit to remove from the Codex (despite there being parts for it), so the Chimera is no downgrade.

Actually, thinking about it, maybe model making is like the Force - it requires balance. They removed something from the Codex that had a model/parts (Track Guard), so to balance that out they had to remove something from a model that is still in the Codex (Bassy Heavy Bolter).

This is similar to my disappointment when GW released the plastic Attack Bike.
