Looking good so far! I'm really liking the jetbike but I think it could maybe use some little wings underneath the driver. Maybe just because I did something similar with a deffkopta jetbike I whipped together long ago but I liked the look of the wings. I think something similar would look really good on yours. You can see what I'm talking about here and here.

I'm also excited to see what you do with the Necromunda terrain. I've managed to get some of my friends to build gangs and start up Necro again and my buddy went and got all his stuff from his parents house, which included a mint set of Necromunda terrain, Gorkamorka terrain and loads of OOP models. I just need to convince him to let me use those bulkheads so I can make plasticard versions of all the cardboard pieces and get everything painted up. I'm looking forward to seeing where you go with yours and hopefully I'll get some inspiration to really get my terrain project in gear.

Mini update tonight, but first some replies for your comments:

@Migsula: Yeah, having that extra person around really takes up more time than one thinks... But it´s a lot of fun too. Anyways, thanks a lot for your comment, I realize that some bits are a bit rough yet, but it should improve soon. In fact I hope that you´ll like the pictures I´m putting up tonight.

@Cadaver: Hey, thanks for those images, that ork bike actually works! I had already started on something a little different for this bike when I saw your post, but I´ll certainly keep it in mind for the next bikes.

That old school Necro terrain is so sweet, I can´t fathom that they stopped making the bulkheads. I swear I would have bought those for all my terrain, looks good and easy to store... I´ve actually done some bridges and small stuff already, but will be getting into the bigger pieces some time this winter.
Oh, and I also want to see what you come up with, when you start making your terrain.

@LeBaron: Thanks!

------------------------------------------

Now, for that update...

I´ve been working with plasticard today, trying to make some fins or winglets for this thing. And I´ll tell you right now, this small work, with plasticard, when you want to make several copies, is not easy... But I made some progress, enough to show you guys some more pictures at least.

The Supercharger is still on, and is staying on, for this one. On one or both of the others I´ll probably cut it, and add other stuff instead. I also started on the windshield, and pretty much finished the engine block.

The rear fins are nearing completion as well, I had a lot of trial and error with these, and some of the small details sadly aren´t showing up on the camera tonight, but it´ll be better once I get some basecoat on the bike.

And lastly, here´s a full side image of the bike as she is now. Getting closer on that completed look. I really like the side profile now, however from the top the profile has begun to resemble the shape of the eldar bikes, and I need to fix that somehow.

More on that soon, until then please tell me what you guys think, and remember, cut away from yourself when working with plasticard...

It may not be so wise to attach the rear fins to the exhausts, for me it looks a bit odd. Otherwise it's looking top notch!

i like it, only problem for me is the placement of the fins, maybe you could put a cover over that part of the exhaust and attatch them to that?

Yeah, it really is sweet terrain, even now. I was kicking myself for selling of a bunch of bulkheads on ebay years ago, but luckily my friend never gets rid of anything so our group is all set on bulkheads. I'm really excited about redoing the card pieces in plasticard and also incorporating some of the GW plastic terrain. The =I=munda community here really has gotten me going on my project. In fact, it's probably time for me to start up a project log.

As for the progress on the jetbike, those winglets look really great. The only problem I have is them being attached directly to the exhaust. Perhaps they could go it right below the exhausts? Overall, it's just looking really, really cool. I'm tempted to make a few ash wastes vehicles of my own now!

@Rose_Mountainz: Thanks! Yeah, I need to do something to get away from the look of the exhausts, I haven´t actually done anything to them yet, will probably add some ribbing and fill in the slots in them.

@neil101: Thank you so much, I´m glad you like it. At my current rate of work, I´m hoping to finish it sometime next week.

@Calibanite Lion: Heheh, yeah those exhaust mounted fins.... I mostly just wanted to see them on there, after so much work making them. But yes, a cover or ribbing, or some such needs to be made.

@Cadaver: Too bad on your bulkheads, but the eBay prices on those are usually enough to make you wonder... Damn they sell for a lot.
Yup, the exhausts and the winglets, I really wasn´t thinking straight... I´ll get some pictures to you guys tonight at some point, hopefully with some covers on top of those exhausts, and ready to rock!
If you do make ash waste vehicles, I´d recommend checking out SF3D on Google.
Not so much for the actual vehicles, but the artistic style and color choices those guys make, are pretty cool.
There are several concept artists out there who also do brilliant work, for example this guy:

Anyways, I better get moving, got a lecture coming up, so...

Is this going to be a single ship you're making or will we be seeing a fleet of these things flying about?

Looks fantastic. Great job. I would be great to see a fleet of these burning across the table.

Well I don´t know about a fleet, but there´ll be at least two more, since that´s what I have the parts for right now.

I don't have anything constructive to add just now that others haven't already mentioned, but I do want to take the time to tell you just how insanely cool this is as a concept and how awesome it has turned out so far.

I can't wait to see it finished.

Thanks a lot Acaddon. I´ll try to finish it as soon as I can.

Sadly, there´s no update on the bike tonight, as I´ve been thrown off by the sudden arrival of the last of my FoW stuff, that i need to have put together for tomorrow evening and the start of our D-Day campaign.

I´ll get some pictures of that up too eventually, but it really deserves some space of it´s own...

Anyways, it should be a very minor distraction, just 8 guns with crew to finish, and then it´s back out into the ash wastes!

Uhm, this might be a side tracked suggestion.. but why don't you just make 1-2 of them and have them symetrical? Then you could just saw them in half and do very easy 1 peice casting of them?

Just a thought.. then you could have a relatively easy bike legion

I´ve never actually had to cast anything, and kind of like having unique bikes, at least for this project.. But I see your point, and may test it for another project.

I don´t really need more than 3-4 max, since they are quite expensive in the game as well....

I like the bike, nice build. Not sure how I feel about the multiple exhausts on it (rear and side).
