Yeah, Rawson, I keep a .050 plasti-card copy of each custom piece that I had to design. That Way I don't have to do it again should the need arise.

no worries man, no worries. I'm loving the stuff, those titains look like a laybor of love! Are you going to be casting these in resin? Because you should really think of doing that these are really good and this blog diserves more posts. Loing the stuf loving it.

Good update. The main hulls are coming along nicely. Looking forward to seeing even better engine pods.

Yeah, the whole thing needs some clean up and there's lots of detail to add yet. I was REAL dissappointed in the engine pods. I think I will have to take a different approach to building them.

Shoot, Hazzer, you got resin on the brain? No, no plans to cast this at all. The plastic model will be sturdier than any resin casting would be. And much lighter. Besides, thats a lot of work for a model that probably won't see the table but every three months.

Still a lot of detail to go onto these parts but at least they are built. Really still didn't meet my expectations either but they look great.

Thanks, Bob. It was sorta an accident that the interior looks as much like the real thing as it does, but that is what I wanted, and I don't think it came out bad at all. I wasn't going to do a viewable interior to begin with so any compliments I get on it are icing on the cake to me.

Also, I have been puring over photos and the copy of the reaver titan instructions that I have and I wanted to build the thing as closely to the real one as possible. The best way to do that, I figured, was to have the construction itself mirror the real one as close as I could get it. How is this piece molded? How do these pieces go together? That is how mine should be. Thats the theory, anyway.

HAHA. Thanks, Sum. I think the look they same, just built better. I wasn't able to get as good a curved look as I wanted.

Love them! The detail is superb. You sir have a good attention to detail! I love the curved edges, was that done with sandpaper/filing? Looks like it!

The Blackadder and Tebrey have given out some very good advice and techniques in the few months I have been following him. One very useful piece of advice I got out of the Blackadder was to obtain and keep clean a good quality single cut file. Course, I need to clean mine and a nice fine grit sandpaper will hide/remove a lot of errors. In fact, I am counting on paint hiding a lot of errors on these bad boys.

Tonight, I will put on the torso mounts and finish a lot of the exterior detail. I hope to be completely finished with everything except the head, weapons/shoulders, carapace and carapace weapon by Saturday afternoon. The interior detail may finished tonight on both of them, as well, but I am taking this weekend slow.

Wanted to say again, excellent work on these, Sonofruss. This, and many others from your build, are among the photos that I have bookmarked in order to check detail and scale/proportions. Also, I love the brassy and gold color scheme. It seems so steam punk to me with these colors. I hope that mine paints this well. Unfortunatley, I feel like there is a large amount of detail I may need to leave off as a result of my lack of certain capabilities. We will see.

Ok, what a horrible weekend. The front end of this thing sent me into a coniption fit. I almost said it. But here is where the head is at:






I still have to put in interior detal and the bottom detail but the front slots on the chin and the nose are pretty good imho. I also think the face plate came out good but its proportions are kinda messed up. It needs a lot more smoothing out, the sensor arrays in the eye slots and It looks like Oogie Boogie from "A Nightmare Before Christmas" to me. What do you guys think?

Not bad at all. Once the tubing and face plate are on there I bet it will look Ace!

Ok, got some more detail on this morning before I had to go to work:











I think that it is going to be pretty good when done. I did a little green stuff work on the edges and need to repaint primer, I just didn't see the crack until it had paint on it, it. I can't believe how freakin' huge this things head is!!!! I mean I knew it was big but that is ridiculousness.

I know it looks dirty but it is just the lighting I swear. I hope that paint covers a lot on this model, honestly.

I was worried about the head, initially, but sum1thatdiesalot was right - after some tubes (both the ribbed piping and eye-like gubbins) and a fancy hat, it's looking good.

Thanks, Oadie, I really appreciate it that I was not the only one worried about the head. I was like "OMG, FML, this looks stupid. It did, however, come around. Now, I gotta get the neck magnets strong enough to make it removeable......
