i've painted my BAC marines to be Death Guard and Imperial Fists. I voted Death Guard, because I am working on adding a Mortarian at the moment.

Also...

I have an Alpha Legion warband, and have painted the first miniature of a Night Lords warband.

I have a homebrew loyalists chapter who are a Fists successor.

30k Emperors Children.

Chasing acts of perfectionism hits the right chords with me. As does thinking very highly of yourself. Love their feel as a very precise and fast melee force, most melee legions don't have that. Color scheme is rad too.

Mostly Dark Angels. I like the look and the theme of the legion.

I did a small force of Mentor Legion...and since they're a "mystery" I didn't bother picking a selection.

I field Ultramarines as a legion and one of their successor chapters in 40k.

Thought for the day: Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.
30k Ultramarines: 2000 pts
Bolt Action Germans: ~1200 pts
AOS Stormcast: Just starting.
The Empire : ~60-70 models.
1500 pts

The IX. Fulgrim can try all he wants, he will never be as perfect as Sanguinius (my mate collects Emperor's Children so this is a bit of banter between us).

Really beautiful work on those Mentors, Elbow. Really like the look of them. They were always one of my favourite obscure successor chapter colour schemes back when the heavy metal team did that sheet of all different chapter schemes in the 90s.

What is known about these mysterious guys, or at least what do you say about yours?

Death Guard - 'Cause their fluff has a nice, tragic twist, there legion fighting style in the fluff is effective on the tabletop, and technically we had some of the best trained legionaries of all (Every Tactical marine was trained as a Support/Heavy Support/Assault/Etc. Marine, and Mortarion was obsesed with ensuring every legionary was an effectivley equipped force of one)

Thousand Sons - 'Cause I love their Fluff.

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.

Actually when Betrayal at Calth came out, I simply loved the toned down aesthetic and picked up a box - despite not playing 40K at the time nor ever playing marines. Got a bug up my ass to do some retro-esque MkVI Beakies with the old school jump packs. Did that lot and then sold the bunch on ebay for a freakin' loss. Mentors grabbed me because of an old White Dwarf I had back in the 90's. They've since been a bit retcon'ed with some nonsense. The older badge and fluff was excellent. Unknown homeworld, their Chapter leader was the only one allowed to verify new Space Marine weapons --- the entire chapter was dedicated to weapons and strategic research - operating more as a Delta style unit, providing advisors to other Imperium forces and chapters. They'd assembled a gigantic amount of research and knowledge on the art of war and were students of all types of combat etc.

I liked the colour scheme and the old fluff was fantastic. I'm an Eldar player at heart and selling off the above force went on to assist funding a 2nd edition Eldar force.

I have a Blood Angels successor chapter, heretical Space Wolves (because the only thing cooler than werewolf vikings riding wolves in space is evil half-daemonic werewolf vikings riding wolves in space), Iron Warriors and a few Sons of Horus and Salamanders.

Strictly speaking, my marines are reformations of Imperial Fists. That would fit the way I think of them thus far

Ultramarines Legion and Chapter. I was tempted to change my choice of Legion from my 40k army, but I prefer the boys in blue far to much. Plus their aesthetic only gets better with 30k, and Breachers are super fluffy for 30k XIII Legion.

They/them

In descending order in numbers of models:

Black Templar.
Black Legion: this is a cheat since World Eaters, Iron Legion, Death Guard and Noise marines are all mixed in there.
Grey Knights.

BT is huge, I could field over 8000 points easy.
