HI, just after some C&C on a Chaos Dreadnaught Model i came up with.

Original body is a star Wars Vyper Droid With lots of Chaos vehicle Sprue bits added on! this is my first ever conversion so i know its a little sloppy and needs painting but i do like the end result. used him a few times but sadly close combat dreadnaughts dont seem to be quite as effective as i was hoping (or i'm just really bad at using them tactically lol)

Anyway here are the pics and enjoy the fluff i came up with as his background!

Malice was once a Champion of Khorne.
He bathed in the blood of the fallen and praised his dark lord with sacrifice after sacrifice. Then during the heat of battle he came face to face with Kharn the betrayer! A climactic battle ensued with neither warrior giving ground while the very earth beneath them shook with the rumble of weapon fire. Kharn finally gained the upper hand and mortally wounded Malice but just as Malice had accepted defeat and Kharn prepared to deliver his skull to Khorne a mighty explosion seperated the combatants and Malice was left wounded but alive. He was recovered by his battle bretheren but his injuries were too severe, so they encased his body in a towering Dreadnaught of Ancient design. Malice awoke with fury and rage! Forever trapped inside his prison of Iron he swore vengeance on the one he believed responsible, Kharn! He now searches the galaxy vowing to destroy Kharn so he may personally deliver his skull to their God!

I agree that final judgment should be withheld until it's painted, but it looks good so far.

The fluff goes great with the model, the Dreadnaught really gives the "ancient" design feel , that it is something unseen from the imperial. Great job sir.

Sweet, cant wait to see it done.

You have to be alittle picky about what you send dreadnoughts into CC with .

Very nice, not too keen on the legs as it makes the model look like it has to shuffle in order to move, but otherwise an excellent model that not only is unique but fits a choatic theme nicely

Post up the pics when its painted

That leg-shuffling comment did make me think it looks a lot like an AT-AT from the front. I'm sure with a good paintjob that can be altered (just be sure to hide that cockpit-esque horizontal line below the chaos helmet). It's a very fitting design that closely resembles the Khorne Forgeworld war machine, any chance of removing the screaming face on its arse, though?

Pretty simple conversion, but it looks quite cool.

I like what you've done. Someone else said it and I concur: The model's technology looks primitive in comparison to current dread models, so it captures that "Ancient" feel. I also like the fluff. I don't know if you do that with all your models or not, but such characterization will definately make this guy more appealing to play with. I also dig that you're even contemplating a dreadnought. I personaly think that Chaos Dreads are underrated. I equip mine - which looks like what you've done - with a heavy flamer and extra DCCW and he works fine. Good luck!

This is an impressive piece. I enjoy seeing A) A dreadnaught that is different and unique in design, and B) a dreadnaught of a different and unique design which doesn't look silly.

The paint job looks great. To be honest, the chain blades on the close combat weapons look a little lopsided, but I don't think that's your fault. (In the unpainted pictures they look like they came that way.) But all in all, its a great piece, very intimidating.

Actually the chainblades are my fault. Cut them perfectly from the extra's you get with the CSM sprue but didnt notice i'd glued the left one at a slight angle doh! oh well, adds character! lol. He's having his first proper outing on monday in a 750pt tournament so fingers crossed! ^_^

LOL! the "Khornifex" i like it!

His only problem is he's bloody huge!! His base is the same size as a standard dread base and you can see how much his feet overhand that! When playing with him i may aswell just put a big arrow with "TARGET" over his head lol!
