I am really stuck, ive tried time and time again but ive got nowhere. I have modified one of my leigion of the damned to hold a flame upright but this is for golden deamon so i would like a flame to show i can do LS and LS gets me hight marks! it's kinda like last years golden deamon winner for diorama,the guard is holding his flamer up and it has a small flame just over the top, thats what i kinda need to do just with a heavy flamer instead.

I'm guessing you're not referring to the winner but to the bronze daemon winner (Jeff Wilhelm)?

If that is the case then I'd try making 3-4 four VERY thin rolls of green stuff. Let them taper into a point at the end. Then letting the cure until they were barely workable and then twist them together and at a short distance from the tapered ends I'd cut them off and smooth the bottom end.

For an easier way out look at fantasy ranges from different manufacturers, one of them i sbound to have a lit candle in their catalogue. Just snip of the flame and attach it to your flamer.

Pin a small piece of metal rod on the end of your heavy flamers and apply the putty around that rod i a blob shape. Allow the putty to sit for five minutes before jabbing and stabbing at the putty to make flame shapes.

Alternatively, you could always just remove a top knot of hair from either an ork, chaos marine, or space wolf, glue that to your weapon and use that as your flame.

I've used the hair idea and this is what it looks like...

If at all possible, I would take the hair off and turn them around. The to knot idea works best when the flames sweep upwards as it looks more realistic.

it's kinda going up it goes up the a little down then up again.

+1 for flames starting thin at the nozzel and then fanning out

Make it raindrop shaped. Start smaller fattening up and make sure the tip points up.

There was a good tutorial on how to GS flames in WD, the guy was making a SOB army. Perhaps someone will remember the month/year.
