Caragara, Located in Ultima Segmentum close to the Ghoul Stars, and directly east of the galactic core, is a remote Feudal world. It takes a many months to travel to or from even by warp travel due to random warp storms. Recently discovered by a expeditionary force of the Blood Angels Space Marines. Upon Landing the Adeptus Astartes were shocked to find that the world was recorded as lost during the Horus Heresy. Records were located Telling of how the people retaliated against small force of traitors left to control the world. The Civil war that ensued that was still going strong when the Blood angels arrived. Once the Blood angels had purified the Land held by those loyal to Chaos, the People were quick to learn the truth about all that they had missed. shipments slowly trickled in from the closest worlds of new weapons and armament. Training camps dotted the great plains of the large center landmass. All began to integrate into the Imperial way of life. Even those that did not want to utilize the weapons and technology that were standard for a Soldier of the emperor adapted what they already had. Companies of Archers Exchanged the primitive Metal Arrowheads for ones with explosive tips. Swords were modified to become power weapons, and the Relic Lasguns found use again with new power cells. Thoe unable to send out a thide of men, due to sightings of Tyranids in nearby systems all men are fortifying the planet, the planet of Caragara is becoming a quick growing exporter of boots.

I am no writher, but I hope this Fluff is good.

I am currently working on forming a full company of men. I have 140 painted guardsmen, 30 painted conscripts, 30 unpainted guardsmen, and 20 unpainted conscripts. There is 1 lord commissar 3 normal commissars, and a psych battle squad. Also I have 2 Leman Russes, 1 Punisher tank, 1 Demolisher tank, 1 devil dog, 1 Valerie, 1 Armored Sentinel, and a Baneblade. And one unbuilt box of guard.
Also i have 2 Tac Squads for sm a command squad a commander, a dread, a scout squad, 6 grey Knights 1 grey knight termy and a vindicator assassin, and a tau battle suite and 10 eldar guardians with HW platform.

This picture is alittle out dated, as it shows the the 4th platoon (left side) witch is not all primed and 30 of the conscript block are painted.

Wow! That´s a lot of models, and an impressive amount of them looks to be painted.

I liked the fluff, though I was wondering, will the army include archers and such? Or is that mainly for fluff?

Also, since your world of origin is a Feudal World, rough riders would seem an obvious choice to me..

It´s difficult to comment on your painting, since the picture you provide is from such a large distance, so I´d really like some close ups of different units. If you have doubts about how to take good close ups, there are a few good tutorials for that on Dakka.

Three things:
1. That is the brightest Baneblade I have ever seen, and I don't mean that in a bad way.

2. I really liked the whole "exporter of boots" in the background story, made me chuckle.

3. Just to beat a dead horse, close ups! Dakka demands close ups!

1: I see baneblades as, "why hide something so big"

2: Its mode the most sense to me. everyone needs Boots.

I am including archers, and plan on a full 5 squad platoon with only bows.
And rough riders are planed, but i have to finsh what i already have first.

(fluff) He is took a Kroot's head and made it it into a half face mask. After killing one in close combat. He is partaking in his old local custom of head hunting.

That's what i was thinking. COuld you get a closer shot, cause it looks really cool but it's hard to see.

As others have also remarked, these look very nice up close too.

The blue and black paint scheme really kicks too, especially on the vehicles. I think some markings and numbers on the tanks might help break up the large flat areas, as well as just a little battle damage.
For a force like this a little would look better than the "been through hell" look..

I want to do some battle damage but I'm gonna weight Intel I get Back home and ask for help at GW. I had tried battle damage in the past and it was really bad. also I am going for the clean "new force" look with the tanks just being shipped in.

Their are two major continents. One has a Large forest in the middle and the Imperial capital on the coast. In the forest is a large ork population. Sounding the forests are vast plains. The 2nd content is Mostly plains with some small forests. That content is a war zone on the south east part due to it being the last outpost of chaos. Their are no mountains due to little motion in the planet's core. Three moons orbit Caragara. One is constantly in the shadow of the planet. Life on the planet exists under the surface in strange unexplained heated caverns. The 2nd moon is 99% forest. The 1% is not forest is a imperial landing zone/Training base. The moon is almost completely covered in primitive orks. This makes for great live fire training. the third moon is much like ours. It is currently being turned in to a orbital space station.

Bright colors are chosen because the men of Caragara are very brave. "If they cant see us why be here?" Member of the CPDF

Simple, but effective. Nice work. I think the vehicles could do with some more love though. You've obviously put some thought into the background to the army, now why not add regimental/army/squad/kill markings?

very soon I'm going to add the squad and company markings to all my units. for now I painted company, platoon and squad markings on the bases of all my troops. the tanks and troops will get those marks soon. when i think of a nice way to do it. as for kill marks. I decided that i'll mark kills when they get them TT.

Ah sry missed that part. I was in a rush to go out.

The armor is Mordian blue basecoat, enchanted blue overbrush and ice blue highlights. Then its all finished off with asurmen blue wash.
the pants are fenris grey, with asurmen wash.

Well painted, and it's always more fun to keep some sort of fluff to go with your army. Seems to make it that much more personal when they go to battle!

Update: I took my mom's Camera to take some pictures of my conscripts and sense it was out my sentinel I painted a few days ago.

Sentinel. I love his look, thoe I hate the antenna it WONT stay on.


All 50 of these boys are painted in a basic way. in time i'll do highlights and washes for them. But they are Conscripts and so far, they need to prove themselves in battle.

Not the best Quality but what ever.
