Hello fellow people of Dakka,

I'd like to present to you my Sons of Russ, the almighty Space Wolves. I'll be gradually updating this thread, and I do mean gradually - I'm a super slow ass painter and, as my wife likes spending time with me (for some strange reason!!) I don't get all that much spare time to do what I love.
I plan to do a mostly Wolf Guard Terminator army as I love the miniatures and the different options available to make them all stand out individually. While I'll mostly be playing with a Guard heavy list, I'll also have a few other options at my disposal.
In a few days I should have a few pics up of the Thunderwolf Cavalry that I'm working on - using one of the new minis from http://www.paulsongames.com.
There will also be Drop Pods and Grey Hunters galore, but as I said earlier, I'm slow!!

The first group of Wold Guard are all on resin bases from Dragon Forge and also have Forge World resin bits mixed in.

I have indeed, I purchased two of them about a year and a half ago, but haven't had the time to paint them until recently.

Ok, have a little spare time on my hands now - sick as a dog with this cold that's going around work!

Here's the rest of the painted Wolf Guard, there's still more to go but this is what I've got finished up now.

A little more work done, doing some washes and trying out a new technique for shading on the wolves - painting with a wash and building up the layers as you go. It's kinda fun and looks pretty good after a few layers.

http://paulsongames.com for the wolf.

Very well cast and sculpted model, the creator is a member of Dakka too and it's awesome to be able to support fellow Dakka members.

I'd definitely recommend buying some eh, they're great quality and the design is everything you'd want from a Thunderwolf. Thanks for the comment on the painting I've only got one going at the moment, but now that I've seen how well they are designed and go together, I'll definitely be buying some more in the near future

Automatically Appended Next Post:
So.....I dropped the wolf and the head broke off. I did mutter a few words under my breath but have managed to re-attach it with GS and after that';s done curing I should be able to paint over it (as I made it look like fur) and it should look as good as new.
I don't know how, but I wasn't able to correctly align the head again after it popped off, it came as a seperate piece and all too. Must have been the glue making it not fit back together that well.
Drama for the day over at least

Almost done, just need my eyes to wake up a little bit before I add the final touches. One question though, should I add a glow effect from the weapon??

Looking great so far. The time taken with the skin and fur is definitely paying off. You've got yourself a very solid force coming along.

As for the power sword glow, I say go for it! The sword looks ace, so some OSL on the wolf's coat would be completely appropriate. I say you try it.

They come as part of the kit with the wolf: Wolf itself, saddle and legs and resin base are all included. Good stuff

I think it looks great as is, don't worry about going back over the source-lighting.

As for this being a slow blog, it's quite obvious you don't know how quickly I work.

Haha, I'm usually much slower but since I've been sick I've had much more time than I usually would

I'm going to call this one finished I think - if I don't soon I'll keep going forever on it! It's not perfect, but neither am I so why should the Wolf be?

I'll post a few pics of vehicles soon, excitement!

I usually hate space wolves, apart from the 13th company, but you've managed to put up some miniatures I absolutely love, so you must be doing something right.
The wolf rider looks great.

Haha thanks man. Space Wolves are the only army I have enough points to play with at the moment, I bounced around alot before deciding on them.

I did purchase something interesting the other week though.....
