I completed this Slaanesh Daemon Prince conversion this evening. Painting will begin soon.

And for those wondering how I got this done tonight, GW shipped my Advance Order on Tuesday via FedEx ground and it showed up nice and early this morning. Now that's service I can recommend and it was free since the order was more than $15!

EDIT, August 13: Pictures of this model fully painted were featured on the Games Workshop website What's New Today blog post on August 13, 2010 at this link: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/blogPost.jsp?aId=12500016a

Great idea with the trygon tail, though you might need a bigger claw.

damn! somebody beat me to this conversion.

I've been waiting to do this once I found out the kit had everything to make two princes except for two pairs of legs. I have a trygon tail I picked up on eBay sitting on my desk waiting for the prince kit.

Very cool though, looking forward to seeing it painted.

Nice!

WAY better than what you get with the 'standard' kit!

Thanks for showing us some of the very interesting possibilities for this model.

Thanks for the great feedback. I started painting it today. I'll be entering it in a couple local GW store painting and converting contests this month. Wish me luck. I'll post a picture when painting is complete.

Actually, there's only one complete torso. There's only one torso back, but two alternate torso front pieces.

I wish all the kind people making the really nice comments here in this thread were voting on the images of this model in my Gallery. The people who are voting don't seem to like it as much as the folks commenting here that's for sure.

Anyway, here's the Daemon Prince fully painted and ready for battle and thanks again for all the great feedback here. I also have had really positive feedback from passersby while I was building and painting this in a GW store over the past few days. The next test for this model are the two local converting and painting contests this month.

is that tail from the Tyranid Ravener, or from something else? Anyway, that looks great. I tried to do something similar, but it didn't really turn out too well.

I love the wing and helm you have on him.
And the paint work on the shoulders/wings is very nicely done.
Might just be me but the claw seems just a little small.
And the bit on the end of the tail. just feels tacked on.
And where ya connected the torso to the tail the GS looks messy.

I do like the idea, which model did you get the tail from? Trygon or that a little bug tail?

Thanks for the many nice comments.

After submitting photos of some of my better hobby work periodically throughout the summer I made it onto Games Workshop's "What's New Today" for a third time this year as of today with the Daemon Prince model pictured here. Here's a link:

Thanks. The other two times were for my Space Marine Flag Raising Diorama and my Venerable Dreadnought. If you follow the links for those to my Gallery pictures here on the forum, links to the What's New Today posts are in the descriptions for each of those photos. And if you have a chance, please remember to vote while in the Gallery. Thanks again!
