Some backwater sump

That is a very vibrant Fire Warrior. I'd suggest either eliminating one of the colors or getting a different shade of red and green. More muted, military-style colors might work well.

The Warboss is better because of his more limited palette. Give him a black wash on his teeth (or dark brown) and you've got a good start. The next step is to try some highlights, specifically on his skin.

Try a Devlan Mud wash and the whole Warboss. Also you have to go though a lot of trial and error to get a good looking product. Heres a picture of my AoBR Warboss for references.

Yes, the warboss is pretty good, though surfboard's idea is a good one. Your fire warrior is a little glary so id cut some of the colours out or dull it in some way.

Agreed with the above - 6 distinct colors on the FW makes it feel too busy to me, especially with their brightness. To my aesthetic, at least, you might get away with one of the three primary colors being that bright, but surely not all three. I would also suggest washing the cloth with a black or similar - this will make it look a lot more natural.

Delvan Mud is most assuredly your friend for orks - do that and gem the eyes, and he'll look really good.

All that said, is largely neat and well done, if a little thick in spots on the FW.

thanks for the advice. I might try a wash on the FW, but yea it took way to long to paint it that way, so for mass production it would be a no go. I'll get to high lights on the boss, any suggestions? i had done a wash to the skin, hoping to make the dark areas more dark, but it didnt work out the way I had wanted.

One question, since it looks like some plastic is visible on the fw, and that is, did you prime them?

Colour inconsistencies says you didn't prime those models, you really should, it gives them a good surface where paint will adhere uniformly. You should also dilute your paints with a bit of water (a wet paintbrush is an easy way to do it) they seem rather thick in some spots. Like others said wash goes a long way. Consider getting the wash set and experiencing with them, seeing how you paint many different vibrant colours you really could use the whole set.

A wash is pretty much skill in a bottle.

I primed them white, thats the plastic that is still showing on the FW, unless I missed a spot when the mini was still on the sprue, i was testing painted it while the arms and such were still on the sprue, but im not sure I'll continue to do that.
