Hey all,

Does anyone happen to know if a Tau Fire Warrior head in a helmet would at all fit on a Space Marine torso? The Marines are a lot bigger, but the tau head is a bit oversized in that long helmet. I assume the backpack would get in the way, but that is solvable. Anyway, any experience in the matter?

I'm trying to create an army of robots, and the Tau head seems to be a plausible robotic head. Space marines have very exaggerated proportions that have always looked a little bit like a robot, with their thick legs and huge shoulders.

I ahve 1 marine that i did the Tau helmet on and they look really impressive to be honest, also i found that the backpack did not get in the way of the Tau head.

Nice, that's even better than I expected. I would like to do something different with the backpacks, but hopefully something involving a cheap plastic bit and nothing too labor intensive. Thanks for the info!

The aesthetics really don't mesh. I can only see it looking very goofy.

Crusading deep in the Eastern Fringe.

I agree. The clean sleekness that the Tau have goin' for them doesn't really go well with the brutality that is a Space Marine's armor and design.

No pity!
No remorse!
No fear!

I beg to differ, have you seen the painting of pulse rifle wielding ultramarines from the Dornian Heresy book?

O ye of little faith.... just kidding, I'm going to put together a test model when I can get my hands on a few bits and see if it works at all. I was hoping to find out if the idea was even worth the effort, which I think it is. If it turns out cool I'll be sure to show it off.

Wow, I've already gotten shown up and I haven't even started the project! That painting job is very snazzy. Actually that makes me think the head swap will work just fine. Now to figure out the backpack and weapon and I might just have a doable project on my hands.

That's very cool, could we have a shot from the other side so we can see the gun assembly, please? Might interest Cypher as he has a chapter all about tech marines and stc stuff.

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.

That's not my model. I found it when I was looking for sky-earth tutorials. The artist is not named.

Here is the page I found it on:

I've spent some time searching and I can't find any other pictures of that army... which is too bad, as I bet it's quite a sight! Maybe someone will come forward with more evidence. Someone? Anyone?

I've almost gotten ahold of all the requisite bits to make a proof of concept model, when I do that I'll try to post the results.
