Recently got hold of 2 box's of skeers and after opening them i found the bases were warped.
To the point most were a U shape.
Both box's were like this.

normal WHFB ones were fine, it was just the new 40k bike bases that had the problems.

Anyways, enough with the basing issues.
Recently bringing back my daemons and decided to add in another god, so brought a KoS and 10 seekers for now.
Ive now come to a dead end on painting skin.
Wanted it to be a milky white with purple fleshy look, but stuck for ideas on this one.

Initial idea was to wash the recesses and thin areas around them with leviathan purple, then wash just the recesses in badab.
Seems ok, but this leaves large flat areas with little or no tone to them except white.
Any ideas are more than welcome.

I have flattened warped plastic before using a very low temperature oven and a cookie sheet. Put the oven to about 170 or so and lay them on the sheet, then just put them in there for a long while. I have never done this with anything mini related, though, but I assume that it would work. If you're scared you could possibly just ask GW for an exchange?

hah, its only bases, costs £2.50 for more if i mess up.
Threw them in some boiling water last night for 5 mins, bent them back with no problems.
So theres that issue solved now.

Still trying to figure out a decent skin tone for slaanesh models (KoS mainly)

I paint my slaaneshi flesh like this,

Basecoat with a 70:30 mix of Tallarn Flesh and Liche Purple
Highlight with the same mix but with added Skull white mixed in.
Re-highlight again, but add a little more skull white.

I drybrushed most of the highlights on, just to make sure to get ONLY the raised parts.

Stasis: Hardlining and fine highlights arent a problem for me, so i think ill use those instead of drybrushing (prefer to have 100% brush control)

Ill give it a go on an old model and see how it turns out.
Thanks
Any pics of the finished scheme please?

I like to go for a more natural skintone for my Slaanesh, starting with Graveyard Earth, then Kommando Khaki, then Bleached Bone. Then I'll do the trim in purple.

Thanks for the advice eledamris and stasis

Been tinkering away with a colour scheme on an old ghoul (similar skin surface and detail to the KoS)
White base, washed with leviathan purple.
The just progressive highlights mixing lev. purple with skull white until its a soft-ish pinky colour.
Took 5 hours on a ghoul, so no idea how long the KoS will take (wash allways bubbles in places, meaning i have to go back and tidy it)

As for the warped bases- if you got them from a retailer in-person, they should be able to swap them out. GW sent out all of their river troll boxes with the wrong bases (round 40mm, instead of square 40mm) it seems, and I've exchanged them 4 times at two different GW stores

Not really a big deal, but it's free, so might as well take advantage of it! If you still have the box, I think they might exchange the bases for you even if you didn't buy it there, if you just go in and explain it to them.

I don't know if you've got a nearby GW, but if so this would work. At an independent retailer, I'm not sure (it probably depends on how much GW product they usually sell, and so if they've encountered this before or not).

Ri: Managed to sort them myself after a little work, so its no big problem.

Like a fool, i order direct from GW most of the time (dont like different sites as my card has a few safty features that work well with GW)
Also, after ordering from other places ive had my card run up charges in spain and bulgaria lol, so i stick with where im safe to save money.
