I'm having troubles with this old game. I am running Windows 7. I downloaded a torrent .iso file, but I can't install the game. I have tried doing all the compatibility settings I could find...what am I missing? I burned the .iso file to a DVD and tried running it off the disk. I copied all the files to my C drive and tried running it there. I simply can't get it to install. It keeps saying that it's not compatible. Does anyone have any ideas that can help me? If I have to buy a CD from Amazon, I will, but I got this game working before an a system with XP.

You running Win 7 64 bit or 32 bit?

If 64 bit and it is complaining about only working on 32 bit then you are out of luck.

Runnin up on ya.

Did you try the fix for XP?

copy and paste this:

[Options]
MusicVol=100
FX_Volume=127
MV_Volume=127
UseGrid=0
DoVideo=0
WatchAI=1
AutoSave=1

Into WordPad, Save it as a text-document(MS-DOS format), and just put it into the Final Liberation folder on your drive. You will have to set the configuration to run the game in Win95' compatibility and you will have to turn off all themes, 256 colors, etc.

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do

It's 64 bit. I did that xp fix thing but my issue is that I can't even get the install initiated without the error message about my 64 bit OS.

Has anyone gotten this game to work on a 64 bit windows 7 machine?

Smarter people than llme surely have come across this kind of issue with their old games right?

I'm going to try loading it on an old laptop

It wont work on 64bit unfortunately, plain and simple.

Your only option is to either have a separate machine with 32 bit Win on it for moments like these or a virtual machine to run it on within your current set up.

I have tons of old games that I can't run now because the installers are too old and 64 bit Win won't recognise them at all.

I had trouble getting it to run on Vista before, then I got a computer-skilled friend to simply turn the cutscenes off then it worked fine...
