This is not a blog but it will be an ongoing thing in my life. ultras were my first army so i have a lot of work to do to bring the paint scheme up to snuff. here are some pics. first off, this is what i am facing as far as repainting goes. this pic is about 75% of my collection.
I had thought about just selling my collection and starting over with a chapter of my own, but i really like ultras, they are what i associate with when i think of Spacemarines so really no other chapter will be able to cut it. Also i have done a lot of random conversions like these.

Neat army. I'd definitely like to see more of this army up close!
I'm also a big fan of the splattered multi-melta gunner. That guy (or what remains of him) is awesome.

That Land Speeder with vaporised gunner is ace. I'm not keen on Ultramarines so seeing them in any sort of pain is aces by me

THanks all.
One point @ Brother SRM. I havent figured out how to reduce the quality of the pics that i have taken so if you click on the image you can zoom WAY in. probably to close if you ask me. you can really see what a crappy job i did on some of them.
EVERYONE loves the splattered speeder pilot. I wish i had a better pic. I painted the pilot so he is staring down with a shocked look at the remains. Doing the looped intestine that hangs out across the remains of the legs was my favorite bit. I also added a spinal stump. I call that one BOBs last flight. So though everyone loves to hate on my speeders they are always cheering for bob.

Ha, gotta love Bob. Just a question, can asploded Bob still fire the Multi-melta? Wouldn't go well with WYSIWYG.

thanks all.
@ Garvil Loken i did the gore effect by leaving the cockpit area mostly white, then painting it with a mix of red and blue inks. THere is also a lot of little tiny bits of Greenstuff stuck here and there, and a twist of it to represent the intestine thats dangling.
As for bob still being able to fire the multimelta, well... he IS in pieces so technically bob dosnt fire it anymore, the pilot has to but since a flamer dosnt really require aim, at lower speeds firing both is no problem.

Everybody loves bob so i figured i would post this shot. The pilot is weilding a chainsword, half of the reason bob got spattered. I think maybe if Paul, the pilot; hadnt spent so much time with a roaring jump pack and a chainsword he wouldnt have felt the need for such low altitude interdiction against enemy forces.
I will try to get some better shots of some of the other conversion work i have done up shortly.
