Hiya

I've just got back into the hobby and I've set up my Imperial Guard scheme to be from some sort of ice world. I've got a battleforce and 2 russes and I'm now looking for some C+C for my work.

I'm using this to keep me motivated and get some help with my painting really, more pics and painting will be done over this next month or so.

I'm no means an expert painter, but I know a few things. I would like to hear from you as to what you thinK I should add to the russ, what you think of the heavy weapons colour scheme (hes not finished, but thats the basic scheme) and how best to paint white, I can't bloody get it to look right even with grey layers first.

Thanks

I think your main problem is that you are painting with too dry paints and too dry brush. So thin down your paints and make sure that it won't dry up to your brush. And paint many thin layers instead of trying to do the whole thing with only one or two layers.. So patience is needed. If you are trying to go for a white tank I'ld suggest you to start with white basecoat. It makes your work so much easier.. Black is really hard colour to cover up. Especially if you are heading to white. But hey.. Hope isn't lost. Just thin down your paints so that they are running nicely and do some more thin coats. I think you should still be able to pull of nice and even surface.

How do you suggest I thin them down? with water or acrylic flow enhancer?

Water is the primary thinner I believe. something like 2 to 1 mix. Cant remember exactly

The tank looks positively frigid, it’s a good look.

Flow enhancer with water, or acrylic thinner.

They look cold...I kinda wanna give 'em a blanket, though I know machines don't have feelings.

......Or do they?
