Niiiiiiice!

Does anyone here know how well Avatars of War are doing financially?

One would think that minis of this quality would be being sold over the counter in FLGSs too. I'd certainly impulse buy more of them if they were right up in my face.

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

I talked our FLGS into stocking them and they DO fly off the shelf!

"Orkses never lost a battle. If we win we win, if we die we die fighting so it don't count. If we runs for it we don't die neither, cos we can come back for annuver go, see!"

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

My FLGS stocks Avatars of War. Some distributors sell it.

I was looking into stocking them today and ordered one or two just to check them out. They seem to be doing well as my distributor barely had any left.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

Man, that lizardman is awsome! Might just get me to start that WFB lizardmen army I have been thinking about making. Hopfully I can get my FLGS to stock AoW.

This company is 100% full of win, don't think I've seen a single mini I didn't like from them.

This to me is actually one of their most disappointing figs. Don't get me wrong, it's incredibly cool looking, but it doesn't look at all like it belongs in a GW Lizardman army. It looks nothing like any of the Saurus. It looks like a Dark Elf got freaky with one of the Cold Ones and this was the offspring. It doesn't even look like a Lizardman Cold One, it looks like a Dark Elf Cold One!

I dunno, I think he's on a 25mm base.

Oldblood perhaps?

I have their Goblin hero model, it is absolutely fantastic.

Am really impressed with this company. Between the price and how highly detailed the models are, you really cannot go wrong.

Another fantastic model from AoW! I know they have a female vampire but I'd love to see a more feral one from them. Given their record it'd be awesome.

Don't you think that most small companies are going to avoid making something that looks like it might even be considered close to looking like GW so that they don't have to worry about what might show up in the mail?

It doesn't really fit with the current look of GW's Lizardmen, but it's a darn cool-looking figure.

And really, as a Champion model I wouldn't have a problem with it looking different... Doesn't the Lizardman fluff include mention of champions sometimes being 'marked' with different colours or features to the rest of their spawning? Fairly sure it used to be in there, if it's not still.

I love the head, but as Insaniak said, it doesn't fit in with GW's range.

Maybe as a saurus old blood, but then again, these are designed to be used as characters.

Hmm all this talk about GW makes me wonder, if a company obviously makes minis for warhammer, should they be penalized if they make something not exactly for it?

AoW are not GW. So they can put fairy wings and a banana on its head for all they care. Still, Looks good enough to me. Too bad I dont buy dinosaur looking mini's. ha.

Look at the rest of their stuff, it's all dead ringers for GW's style. That seems to be their purpose/goal. Their Daemon Champion is a straight up Bloodletter, no question. Their figs are all super awesome, including this one, it just disappoints me because Lizardmen is my army and this one wouldn't cohesively fit into an army hardly at all.

I really like the crisp sharp colours on this. That alone sells it to me. Top notch.

Anyone else put in mind of Goldenaxe Lizardmen?

I think it fits in just fine with the lizardman range. Who says every saurus has to look the same? Or, give it the stats of an old blood but put in your fluff that it was a special spawning of an ultimate hero that's half saurus half carnosaur

it's nice and all but,

Do all generic Lizardmen come from a 'South American based continent' with appropriate racial motifs and symbols?

Stone axe?
Snake symbol (Positively Incan Aztec mayan etc)?
Bright bird feathers?

Is this the norm or have GW yet again polluted the mini gene pool, via market saturation, for the rest of eternity?
