Let's face it: we all love zombies. And this is the best thing to happen to zombies since George Romero.
I started reading the comics this past summer, and fell in love with the series, and was ecstatic to learn their making a TV Series about it.
And from what I've seen so far, it looks to be pretty faithful to the source material.
So, any other dakkites looking forward to this Halloween for more then just candy and the horror movie marathons?
Haven't read the comics, but isn't it supposed to be more about the people and their efforts to hold together rather than killing zombies?
People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

Ash is more then acceptable!
Though Bruce is getting sorta old now
Sorta old? Oh hes showing his age pretty bad now. But it happens. Look at Clint Eastwood, I grew up watching all his cowboy movies and such because my dad was a HUGE fan of his, and everytime I see him I still forget hes not an immortal god and does age like the rest of us
Im just curious what actor is going to be like that when they pass. Seriously those are some BIG shoes to fill in just Bruce Cambells case lol
Bruce Cambell is still awesome. Anyone watch burn notice?
And the walking dead does look awesome. Has anyone watched Dead Set though? I caught the last half of an episode the other night and it looked pretty sweet too.
I am both selfish and chaotic. I value self-gratification and control; I want to have things my way, preferably now. At best, I'm entertaining and surprising; at worst, I'm hedonistic and violent.

thats something i´m musing everytime i see a golden movie...there are so many good stars like john wayne, eastwood or so and what has this new milenium to offer ?
what great heros will our kids grow up with? the stars of twilight? the horror. it is difficult to see the icons of your youth crumble to dust eventualy, what does that do to one self...

Ci. Though zombie killing definately messes with the ability to hold together when it happens all the time.
The Walking Dead is one of the best comic I've read in my life and also the best zombie stuff done since Dawn of the Dead.
In fact it was so good that I stopped reading it, the psychology of the characters is so realistic that I felt systematically depressed for days. The greatest achievement of this story is that progressively the zombies are fading to the background, and that the real horror comes from the living.
I think I can say I'm excited for this too. Ecxited, and affraid.

Of course, that goes without saying for you FITZZ.
A few things I have to nitpick though:
1)Rick uses what look (to my untrained eyes at least) a Glock in the comic. In the show, he's using a revolver.
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/RevolversAreJustBetter 2)Rick doesn't appear to go into the cafeteria after he wakes up in the show. This may be proven to be wrong theough.
3) Rick doesn't hide underneath the tank in the comic when he comes to it in the comic.
Something they added though that i like (so far)
If you watch, you'll see Duane(the black guy) picking zombies off with a rifle. Next to him is a picture of him and his wife.
Cut to a black zombie in a night gown. Cut to Duane unable to take any shots.
Awesome expansion of backstory.

Your response made me laugh. I do the same though. Ill watch a movie and think to myself "will Leo Dicaprio be that guy? I mean hes a good actor and all but... Im not sure if he has IT" and yea if Im stuck watching that Robert Pattinson (my wife corrected me...dear god help me) for the next 20 years Ill cry.I just DONT see any actors right now that stick out as one of those long running actors. I mean Stallon is still huffing and puffing.....but I mean hes OLD! Holy cow he needss to get out of the game

lol if i search that way for something the always come up in chinese or russian^^.
and about todays stars beeing tomorrows heros of cinema one name might come up: clooney. BUT i think he isn´t enough show and won´t be. guess the today stars think they will be the future heros, but they err. and for dicaprio being an actor? o think he wants to be one, he´s one of those in the game that have only one face where a good actor needs lots of faces, well maybe not so much as jim carry but still more than stallone and the likes...
I also had to stop reading the Walking Dead because it was just too depressing.
It's brilliant, but these days I prefer Invincible. Kirkman is a legend, though.
