Hi,
using hints from several stockists ( http://www.shopofmagic.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=483:november-gw-releases-announced&catid=38:new-releases&Itemid=57 ) and a few remarks by Scryer over at Warseer, we can see that GW will release at least two GW terrain kits on 20th November. These are:

Witchfate Tor, Tower of Sorcery ($66.00)
Dreadstone Blight ($29.75) , listed among Dark Eldar 40kprereleases but seems to be the High Elf statue below:

Nothing else is currently known.

Fodder for speculation:
First item is expensive, may be a collection of High Elf terrain seen in the new BRB like the High Elf building, the columns, the Lion Well and the IoB High Elf Statues. To me it sounds like a High Elf tower at least.

ATM there is not much information, but these should go on official preorder with pics within 2 weeks.

BTW, there is also a small rerelease for Lizardmen (Oxyotl plus 2 Skink command blisters) and two small releases for Fantasy Empire (Knights of the Blazing Sun Command and Upgrade pack). An undead horse bit has also been released not long ago ( http://www.warseer.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=98034&d=1286128351 , http://www.warseer.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=98035&d=1286128351 ).

Cool. I pointed out to my local GW staff that the High Elf stuff was probably future terrain.
Can't wait to see pics.

The Dreadstone Blight is actually a Fantasy release according to Scryer in the Darkness (reliable rumor source on warseer), it was just marked as 40k in error. (Someone said something about red elf statues in White Dwarf, but I haven't bought an issue in ages, so I have no clue what that means).

Depends weather you were thinking Automated Teller Machine, or... something a bit more blue.

On topic: I'm definitely looking forward to the Elven terrain kit. I simply cannot have enough WFB terrain, ever.

Edited the first post and title a bit with some new info. Funny thing is that the statues are only called Ăšlthanes in the IoB novel, after the Elven heroes they represent. The book page shows an Elven building, the columns and the lion well I mentioned as possible releases.

And don't forget the upcoming Gale Force 9 release (no price or release date yet):

Isn't the term "Tor" used extensively in GW elven naming conventions. My interpretation was always a tower of some sort.

I've understood it to mean a rocky top hill as well, just not when used in GW fantasy land.

I've heard that the Dreadstone Blight is basically a ruined version of the Tower of Sorcery, and that both have interior detail.

I'm told that the Tower of Sorcery is a limited edition plastic terrain kit, for which they will release additions each year. The first kit is the base, and the next one is the lower level, and so on.

Isn't the term "Tor" used extensively in GW elven naming conventions. My interpretation was always a tower of some sort.
It is an ancient, proto-version of the modern word, "Tower". Possibly used for less formal towers as was pointed out, like tower-like tops of hills or perhaps places where there used to be a tower in ancient times that is long lost to history, "Tor" is part of the etymology of the word, "Tower". Tor, Torr, Tur, etc. I used "Tur" in my naming conventions for certain places in the role playing world I constructed years ago before moving from RPGs to Warhammer. The most famous place still bearing such a name is likely Glastonbury Tor.

The GW studio has shown some great conversions for archetypal "wizard's towers" over the years, but constructing one yourself has always been a time-consuming prospect that could also be expensive if you were to kit-bash the amount of GW scenery kits they used. If they are releasing a plastic, reasonably priced, cool looking kit for this I welcome it. With so many models to paint I've never found time for this particular project, but it's something I've wanted to do. Now it should be cheaper and faster to do it.

That GF9 Elf scenery is beautifully done and fills a need for RPG and tabletop mini battles long overdue. GW would be crazy not to respond with something of their own. GF9 products and other competitors' products have been inspiring a lot of new stuff from GW the past few years and this may be another case of that. More proof that competition is a good thing for customers and not just on pricing issues but on variety of products from favorite manufacturers as well.

Guess we better discuss this in the Dark Eldar thread, as it is not a Fantasy terrain, but it is indeed a "token", a repainted Vortex Grenade template made of metal:

My initial reaction to that is "BOOOOOOOO!!!" I don't want to buy one piece of a kit each year, I want to be able to buy a whole kit at once! Especially limited edition stuff. We have a poor track record of being able to get respectable numbers off limited ed stuff at the FLGS. So far we've only gotten two of each army specific spell deck, we were only given ONE set of the skull dice. I fear getting one or two parts, then missing a middle chunk of the kit.

Am I alone in being unimpressed?
The Elven towers look ideal for My Little Pony Unicorns.

The terrain in the first pic is not too bad. except for the bloody skulls! Though not impressed with the spiral staircase with a BLOODY SKULL in the foreground.

I know I know, it's GW they have to have skulls else an ancient curse will be called down upon the world of men and unleash a pestilent deluge of SKULLS!

Actually it is a clever marketing toy. If you want to sell a series of expensive kits, make the base kit limited, so almost noone can use the rest of the series
Guess you have to share it with the other GW customer in Iowa then

The Island of Blood terrain is mostly of non-Elven, Chaos influenced design (see IoB background info). I showed it only for the Elven statues that are rumoured to be released some time in the future.

Edit: ANother thing: Dreadstone Blight sounds like something SKaven-ish. Might as well be the warpstone terrain markers that were featured in the BRB, epic Skaven vs. Bretonnia/Wood ELf battle.

Then it's a mistake in a whole lot of places at once, which is why I added The War Store posting to the others listed here to show the weight of numbers on this. All the other models being released on Nov. 20 are Dark Eldar models, so perhaps it's not a mistake. In any case, all this chatter will be obviated shortly by reliable information, so why agonize (DE pun!) over it? It is of little consequence and the mystery will be over within roughly a month.
