Way too tired to do anything tonight, so I'll start this thing tomorrow. Anyway here's the list I brought.

So here's round one.
Opponent- Simon leen (made it to day 2 gold bracket)
Army sisters
His list
palantine
5 celestians- 2 meltas
immo
3 units of 5 celestians- 2 meltas each
3 immos
3 units of 5 IST's- 2 meltas each
3 IG infantry squads- 1 autocannon each
3 chimeras
1 PCS- 3 flamers
1 chimera
3 dominion squads- 3 flamers each
3 immos
3 heavy support immos
So that's 10 immos and 16 melta guns anf then 4 chimeras YAY!
Mission- Primary VP's dont remember secondary or tertiary.
Deployment- Dawn of war
He wins the roll for first and hands it to me. He then deploys nothing and has his whole army roll on turn 1.
My Turn 1
I want 2 thirsters 1 grinder 1 crusher 1 fiend and 1 plaugebearer and I got it! Everything comes on accross the middle of the table with the crushers and grinder scattering forward a bit. Plauges go way back.
His Turn 1
He comes on and takes advatage of my out of poistion crusher squad and grinder. He rolls on with everything over 6 in the dead center in 2 rowns of 6 tanks. He also has his 3 infantry platoons way off in a corner. He gets a celestian squad out and meltas away the grinder. And flamers the piis out of my crushers but underestimates their survivability. I'm left with 5 and a total of 6 wounds out of 12.
My turn 2
My Fiends do a crazy multi charge and grab 2 immolaters and the 5 celestians stunning one immo wrecking the other and staying in combat with the celestians. The crushers also grab 3 tanks themselves and wreck to of them. The thirsters run up and fail to hit anything. I also had the horrors show up and scatter a little closer than i wanted and them missed with their bolt. The oher grinder also came in a little further back and shook an immo with phlegm. Some more plauges come in the back too.
His Turn 2
Retaliation sees the remaining crushers dead along eith the horrors. 3 melta shots from 2 different units failed to kill the new grinder which was nice. Fiends finish the 5 sisters they were engaged with before.
My Turn 3
The other crusher come in and hang back a little trying to keep him from driving 12 off to the flank. The fiends grab 3 tanks and 5 sisters this time and again stay and wreck 2 tanks. The thirsters try to open some transports up again and fail... The grinder does get locked in with some IST's and stays.
His turn 3
Bad things happen as atotal of 2 melta guns 2 regular flamers needing 6's to wound and 2 rapid firing bolters kill and unwounded thirster. The rest of his army gets rid of the other one aswell. Fiends break free again. He also is clever with his transports and makes it so that my fiends can not continue to grab tanks and a squad to avoid getting shot. Grinder kills the IST too.
My Turn 4
That was over 500 points of thirsters, so im down so many points now. My fiends hop over to the other dide of the field and wreck the stationary chimeras on the other side of the table. Crushers and grinder do what they can but they have trouble hitting things.
His Turn 4
Run some immos back to deal with the fiends and throw whatever he can at them. My grinder survived another stupid amount of meltas shots and the crushers are down to just 4 models with 1 wound each.
My turn 5
Well my army goes crazy and kills like 3 tanks and the grinder kill 5 more IST's. The fiends also kill 2 guard squad that hopped out.
His turn 5
He's really runnng out of fire power but he does manage to maim the fiends with like 3 flamers and gets themdown to 1 model. The grinder finally dies and the crusher go down to jst 2 models.
My Turn 6
Crushers kill 1 more tank, fiend fails to wreck a tank.
His Turn 6
Kill the crushers actually fail to the kill the fiend.
The game ends and he wins and I grab my only loss over the 7 games I played.

Eh, they're certainly not a top tier army in 40k. The trick is that they are very rare, so you catch a lot of people (even veteran tournament) players off guard.
Yermom is a very skilled player, so his success shouldn't really be attributed to the strength of Daemons in 40k.
With that being said, they are certainly capable of competitive builds.

Yeah, I can personally attest that lack of experience against them has won me games with my Daemons. They are a good, fun codex but suffer greatly if your dice decide to betray you.
Pity you lost the first one out Yermom. Congrats though on taking the next 6 games Wish I could have been there!

Immo-spam is tough, especially for a daemon army having to rely on assault to wipe out vehicles. I believe Stelek did beat them, though it was a close game.

Aspiretoglory- Thanks! And while daemons aren't exactly a competitive army they can be decent. I'd still put them at tier 2.5 They're probably tier 2 only because no one knows how to play against them, but the book is certainly has major flaws besides being succeptable to poor rolls. Their are certain tactics one can pull to virtually never lose to daemons (assuming the daemon player rolls averagely), but very few people know what they are
Hulksmash- Yeah thanks hulk! But yeah I did manage to pull second so that's always nice.
Jy2- Just to clear things up I caught the end of stelek's game vs simon and it was really a blow out. Stelek had too much anti tank to make it a game. Or at least it seemed that way.
Extremen- Thanks! Yeah my dice rolls weren't the greatest this game when it came to saves but they sure as hell made up for it in the third and 7th game.
So here's round 2!
Opponent Eric Schupp
Eric is relatively new to the game and is a nice fellow, shame because his lack of experience and knowledge in general really costed him this game.
Army- Chaos marines
His list
2 lash sorcerers
2 5 man chosen squads with 2 meltas 2 flamers and rhinos
2 9 man khorne squads in rhinos
2 6 man plague squads with plasmas in rhinos
5 oblits
Looking at the list its a nightmare for me and I feared this is going to be one of those tournaments I just lose, since my first round loss.
Mission- table quarters primary again i dont remember the secondary or tertiary
Deployment- spearhead
He got first turn and took it very big mistake.
His Turn 1

My turn 1
I want 1 thirster 1 grinder 1 crusher 1 fiend and 2 plauges and I get it. Since it was spearhed I used this to my advantage to surround him into a corner had the thirsteroff on one flank behind a huge rock that blockes los 1 grinder off on the other flank the crushers dead center and the fiends behind them. I run and get absurdly close to him.
His Turn 2
He takes all his rhinos and drives 12 backwards. Very very bad move. He doesn't even use lash. He had his oblits fire las cannons at the grinders and just could not pen them. Oh and neither of his outflanking choses came in.
My turn 2
The other grinder and crushers come in off the preexisting crushers icon so they too are stupidly close. Horrors and plauges way in back. I charge with everything that can the fiends imoobilize 2 rhinos a grinder gets to 3 obliteraters and wipes them the thirster knocks out the other 2. The pre existing crusher close in on the other 2 rhinos.
His turn 3
1 squad of chosen comes in and tries to kill some plauges with shooting and fails. The plauge marines get out of the immobilized rhino and run away but closer to the chosen and the plauges they shot. Everything else sits in a rhino and again no lash...
My turn 3
Well since the fiends were in base with the immobilized rhinos on his turn they wrecked them both. So not they charge the berzerkers while the thirster got in there and ate the sorcerer. He actually manages to wipe my fiends to a man before i swing since I charged into cover. I kind of saw that coming but at this point it doens matter. My Grinder that dropped last turn wrecked another rhino and the crushers eat the khorne berzerking contents. The other crushers go out and kill the chosen and plauge marines to save my plauge bearers.
His Turn 4
His remaing squad comes in on the other side and hides. The remaining plauges ditch their ride and head toward cover.
My Turn 4
Grinder eats those plauges
The rest of the game is me trying to catch up to that rhino with chosen so I get the points in the end which I eventually do on turn 7.
Well I guess that after a round one loss I was due for a big win but I felt bad about doing this.

No, marines can beat them easily. All it takes is 1 librarian will Null Zone inside a land raider. Also, dreads are useful for tying up daemon infantry (i.e. bloodcrushers, fiends and bloodletters).

Bloodthirsters can wreck/destroy a landraider as can a Soul Grinder. Then the lesser daemons eat the Librarian. Remember a Librarian can't cast a psychic power from with a landraider since this vehicle has no places to shoot out from inside.

He can cast nullzone since it's not a shooting attack. Which does severly wreck Daemon armies. Not as bad against BT's and BC's but it's still nasty.

Okay my mistake there but null zone does not affect cover saves or armor saves (Iron Hide) so while it does hurt it can be countered. Plus like I pointed out daemons are quite capable of cracking open armor 14.

Well my next game just so happens to be against null zone so you guys all get to see how that goes.
Opponent- cant remember his name sorry!
Army- Space marines
His list
Vulkan
Libby- null zone gate
5 TH SS termies (footslogging)
1 dread- multi melta
drop pod
2 10 man tacticals- missile melta fist las plas razorback
1 10 man tactical- plasma cannon flamer fist heavy bolter razorback (vulkan chills in here with half a squad)
2 units of 2 land speeders- typhoon misiles heavy bolters
2 predators- auto cannon heavy bolters
It's kill points primary objectives secondary. We are using the 5X5 system so we each pick 5 kill points from our opponents lists and thoses are the only kill points we can score.
I choose the 2 preds the 2 units of speeders and the dread.
He chooses my thirsters my grinders and 1 crusher squad.
The deployment- pitched battle i think?
He wins the roll for first and makes me take it. He then deploys in a pretty forward position, with his termies way out on a flank with the libby.
*Something to nite there is an 8 inch long 6 inch high 1 inch thick wall in the dead center of the board which blocks los.
I want 1 fiend 1 crusher 1 grinder 1 horror and 2 plauges as I was trying to reduce the kp's coming in. Sadly the dice gods don't agree but it's not as bad as usual since my secondary in stronger than normal.
My turn 1
Both thirsters try to drop so that they are hiding behind the wall 1 lands perfectly the other scatters right over the wall. The crushers land off on a flank with vulkan on it and run so that 3 models are hanging back touching area terrain to claim cover and the icon is up front. The grinder lands next to them between them and the thirsters and accomplishes nothing with shooting. The plauges hide.
His Turn 1
His dread comes in and scatters behind the los blocking wall on my side of it but next to the grinder. a 5 man tactical with melta also move up to melta the grinder. Everything else just advances a little accordingly and the libby turns on null zone. 2 twin linked meltas failed to kill the grinder which was pretty important. It takes 1 predator and 1 speeder squad to get rid of the null zoned thirster that scattered out from behind cover. And the crushers take a beating losing 3 models.
My Turn 2
I get my other crushers who land forward off the preexisting crushers icon and run so that 3 are touching cover also. I also get the fiends who land perfectly behind the wall. the thirster that was hiding flies back to kill the dread. The grinder tries to kill the 5 msrines that shot him and the pre eisting crushers charge their razorback. Horrors also come out on a flank far away. In combat the grinder kills 1 marine and they hold... And the thirster rips off both the dreadnaughts arms but doesnt kill it.
His Turn 2
His army shuffles around vulkan gets out of his ride and null zone is up again. Changleing works and has 2 speeders shoot another squad of 2 speeders and kill one. A short lived victory as the remaining shooting plus vulkans charge kill the new squad of crushers. His dread survives my thirster again and his marines all die to my grinder.
My Turn 3
I realize I have to start conserving my kill points so my crushers and grinder run back and the grinder starts shooting at this predator. The other grinder came in off in the distance on another flank. The fiends hop out from cover and multicharge the speeders wrecking all of them. The thisrter STILL doesnt kill the dread.
His Turn 3
He shoots my fiends and leaves one since they are in cover and most havey weapons are dead and the tac squads with missiles and plasmas are trying to deal with the grinder and the 3 reaining crushers. Vulkan gets back in his ride. The bloodthirster kills the dread.
My Turn 4
Well I'm stupid and forget my fiend entirely... The thirster flies up back behind the wall and the crushers get out of los. The grinders try to stay away from his 1 remaining melta and pop large blasts onto his preds doing nothing.
His Turn 4
Vulkan drives 12 towards the crusher looking to get them on his next turn. He gets rid of the fiend and fails to hurt the grinders.
My Turn 5
Thirster flies off and kills his libby who detached from the termies some time ago. The grinders take more pot shots but one of them charges the pred and kills it opening itself up to a charge by the termies. A squad of plauges moves and runs to block the access point of the rhino so he cant get out unless he moves his rhino first.
His Turn 5
His termies charge my grinder on the other flank of vulkan and crushers and kill it but one of their own. The rests of his army shoots the thirster to one wound. Vulkan getts out and charges the plagues.
My turn 6
Thirster kill his last pred. Grinder fails to do anything. Plauges hold.
His turn 6
He actually fails to kill my thirster though even if he did I would have won. And vulkan still doenst kill off the plauges.
The game ends.
I win 5 Kp's to 2. 2 objectives to 1 and 2 quarters to 2 quarters.

Well after this tournnament I'd have to say that fateweaver is well worth the points honestly. But, in a tournament like battle for salvation or nova where you have to go undefeated to win he's too much of a liability. Any game where he flies away early is a game lost when playing a good player.

Ironically, I just played against Vulkan+Librarian salamanders today with my daemons before reading your report. They are a good build.

I was the lucky 3rd round opponent =) Felt like a much tighter match than the score lets on. My rules error cost me with the fiends vs speeders but those are the breaks.
