The idea is that it takes extra effort and time to write properly, and they’d rather save the time. If you can still be understood, what’s the harm? While most of the time a sloppy post CAN be understood, the use of proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling is generally seen as respectable and desirable on most forums. It demonstrates an effort made to be understood, and to make your post an easy and pleasant read. By making this effort, you can often elicit more positive responses from the community, and instantly mark yourself as someone worth talking to.

While nifty; that's technically a Single Stage Coil gun. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coilgun

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

While it looks boss I am disapointed at the lack of power.

Aw George, Don't shoot the model air planes.

Very cool, but what does it do with the elctromagnet that a high powered pellet gun doesn't do with air? Besides looking sweet as hell?

Impressive looking, but multiple-stage coilguns are where it's at.

I'm sure he could just hook it up to a more powerful power source and crank the voltage really high. Then it'd go through card board, but he's been quite sensible with it (thats a good thing)

not exactly, the capacitors can only deliver so much power especially to a single stage weapon, you need a massive capacitor bank to get it to do anything dangerous.

I saw this posted on Kotaku about 3-4 weeks ago. The power it outputs is seriously very very weak.
