Why wasn't the emperor put in a dreadnought instead of the Golden Throne? He would still be able to talk and everything, and a dreadnought seems more reliable.

Why wouldn't they save all the dead primarchs either? What about lord solar macharius?
Because certain people just can't have it done. It's not as easy as you think.
The emperor would need a seriously powerful dreadnought to even harness his psychic energies and stuff. Not to mention horus basically destyroyed his soul..

Because:
1)People would be able to kill him. Where he is now is reidiculously hard to get too even if you're a freindly ship not to mention all the warships and spacestations in the Sol system.
2)He wouldn't be able to power the astronomicon. He used to be able to do it from wherever but now he is all enthroned he has to be reletively near. Automatically Appended Next Post: By people i mean bad guys. By bad guys i mean anyone not on our side. By our side i mean my side.

Though, if it were possible, I think the main point of having him in a Dreadnaught is to have him speak, to hear his will from HIS mouth, and not the High Lords of Terra. Which, IMO, is one of the reasons that the Emperor is on the Throne, so the High Lords can have power. But, that's just my musings, no actual evidence there.

Well, apparently he went a conquering and such in the olden days. Every damn book I've ever read has the Emperor just about to appear and then something gets in the way of seeing it. Oh wait, the Emperor is about to speak, here it comes...finally, after years and years of waiting for this moment and then...oh, what's that? You've got to go to the bathroom?
And then an advisor comes out five minutes later and says, 'oh, yeah, well, he got a call on his auto glavon and couldn't come back, so, here's what he would have said!'

I think if the High Lords wanted the Emperor to speak they would just call up a techpriest to install a vox system in the Throne. The problem for them is if the Emperor can speak he can start running things again. Then they don't get to be in charge anymore.

actually there is a way for the emperor to communicate. The Emperor's Tarot
only a few select psychic individuals(mostly Inquisitors and GKs) can read it, but it is a direct communication with the emperor.

No, I'm fairly certain it was the other way around. The Emperor destroyed Horus' soul with a powerful psychic lance whose power actually scared away the Dark Gods so that they weren't protecting him.
The Emperor's soul is most assuredly not destroyed, heck, the Daemons codex actually confirms that he's still actively opposing Chaos.

This pic is cooler. It's like "Hey look a corpse", then you see the eye which reminds you that there is still consciousness buried somewhere in his head.
But I don't mean a dreadnought necessarily built for combat, just to keep him alive so he could talk and move around. And why the hell couldn't he use his psychic powers from a dread? Don't the GK dreadnoughts still have psychic powers?

But there's close to no consciousness in that body, so he wouldn't be able to operate it.

Cite your source? Because I'm fairly certain the Emperor was active at LEAST up to five thousand years after internment, as that's when met with Alicia Dominica.
