Just finished Captain Tycho and a unit of Vanguard Veterans (still working on jump packs!!!!).

Ive painted the veterans as Death Company - a) cos i like the minatures and coloue scheme, b) to make them stand out from all my red assault squads.

Cant wait to get my hands on the Storm Raven to go with them!!!!!!!

I think they look really good, very nice detail painting.
If I had to critique them I would say make the eyes stand out as a bit more of a focal point.

You've broken the black up nicely with the grey edging and it all looks very neat and tidy. They all look great. My only comment is that maybe the eyes could use some work to make them stand out a bit.

They are some fine dudes, I agree thought that the lack of eye lenses, they will really complete the model

And I agree with green eye lenses. Make 'em bright.

All i use for the black is a Chaos Black basecoat, then two line highlights. 1st one is 2:1 mix of Chaos Black and Codex Grey, 2nd highlight is Codex Grey on its own.

Pick out all of the extreme edges of the armour - it takes a while but is worth it

How did you do the Gold on Tycho? It looks very nice!

I also really like the edging on the Death Company, is it just Codex and then Fortress? Or did you start with something darker?

I think they are great!! If I had to make a suggestion for improvement I would say that the lightning on the power swords is too symmetrical. Every branch is kind of shaped the same.

Obviously I'm being super duper picky, but you asked for critique. Overall just awesome!

Really nicley done, great job on the banner. The swords on the death company are really good. I am really exctied to see the storm ravens.

Agreed, some work on the eyes would make them perfect.
