I was wondering the same question myself. I made a small outpost out of spare imperial tank parts which worked out well. For bigger things (like the settlement I want to make for example) buy some imperial buildings e.g sanctum imperialis and shrine of the aquilla, some plasticard (purchasable from all good modeling shops but games workshop) corrugated and normal then stick it all together in a seemingly ramshackle way. Please post pictures of your creations when you have made them and I shall do likewise (note that this will be after Christmas). For Mork, Wazdakka and the kult of speed!

How about something like that. Made from an Activia Snackpot pot. Currently 5 for £1 at Morrisons (and not un-tasty). For Orks paint them a sandy / muddy colour and texture. Add some ork glyphs. Instant hovel.
