Hey Dakka, I was kinda bored with painting all my units and decided to try a small conversion, just for a test. I made an Autarch out of a Dire Avenger Exarch body, a metal sword for the Power Weapon, and bitz from a Starcannon and a Shuri Catapult to make a Fusion Gun.

Now that that's done, I'm looking for a good set of wings for Swooping Hawk wings. Has anyone done this or similar and used a (preferably plastic) set of wings that worked well?

Thanks for any input folks!

I turned 3rd ed plastic multipart guardians into swooping hawks back in the day using plasticard wings.

Made two pieces of a rough wing shape (based off the 1st ed ones I have).
Glued them into the sockets on the back armour.

For an autarch, the same would apply.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

Cool, thanks. I'll look into that provided I can't find something better...I'm not really awesome at designing my own stuff such as that. But its an awesome idea.

I'd be curious to see how the Blood Angels wing bits look on Eldar. I'm planning to use the winged jumppack parts to create Scourges for my wife's piratical Eldar, but it'd be interesting to see the wings alone.

Wow that does look pretty awesome.

I kind of prefer the natural looking ones but those made me really interested in a more cyber-looking set of wings.

Hmm...the plot thickens. Thanks!
