Well, for your tactics, I would have to dearly reccomend using more Devilfish (kitted out as Warfish) for your firewarriors. This allows Fish of Fury attacks on objectives and thats a lot of firepower while keeping the FW safe. Idk if you are going to do this in the future but yeah.

I don't know if i'm in the place to critique the list just b/c it hasn't been asked but i'll go ahead and put it out there, I think you would have benefited from having more Kroot to be able to infiltrate on objectives and giving the IW a hell of a time trying to dig them out.

Sorry if i'm kinda overstepping myself here.

With your analysis of the tau being a "holding action" style army, they are in a sense. I would have to disagree about Tau not doing the Eldar style gun down. I think that Tau are best used to gun down target after target till there are no threats then using Mobile elements for objectives. I think this mainly just because of the markerlight system. With being able to boost the capabilities of taking down a unit, you can SERIOUSLY hurt units. This is their best strength IMHO. Massive firepower to weaken the enemy for a "pounce" in the end.

The only other suggestion would be to use his tactics. Tau have an ungodly amount of anti-transport firepower. Firewarriors can do it (have to be lucky though), Smart Missiles, Missile Pods, Plasma Rifles, Fusion Blasters on Crisis (probably the kings of taking down light armor) and on Piranhas, Broadsides, Hammerheads, Skyrays, Warfish, hell even gundrones doubletapping into the rear armor of a transport can take it out!

Crippling his troops first and using cheap screening units (kroot, pirahnas, empty devilfish) to keep away his big baddies would be the best suggestion I could give.

Just a quick question, are the tenticle guys(thier name escapes me) counting as kroot?

The pulse rifles are yellow with no white at all, but the armor is mostly white with a splash of yellow. Looks weird to me. Not bad, but strange. Still some of the best tau around.

Solid work. It's the little conversions that are easy to miss (swapping out for guardsmen's boots vs the two-toed Fire Warrior ones) that make these models look really good.

I know there are rules in an old WD.... I just don't remember which one.... If I find it, I'll re-post. Pretty sure it's before WD 300 in the US..

me myself hate tau and there fluff, even human tau fighters, but you have done them verry well especialy the little changes to make the humans fit in th earmour with the boots and respirators and such, top notch stuff here

Great minis !! I love them , very nice painted ... those bases are OK , but i think you should but more plants tight together , not one here and there , should come out better ...
