These are characters from an upcoming Deathwatch game I will be running as GM. I have never posted my stuff before, so this is a first time foray into P&M Blogging. Constructive Comments and critiques are welcome. More to follow as I work on them.

I loves me some Deathwatch. Digging the apothecary, and props on creative usage of the new BA bits.

Thanks! I get ideas... some suck... but this one seemed to work for the guy who will be playing that character. I'm currently working on the Blood Angel Librarian. We'll See how that comes out

Slight update with the Librarian. Still have to do the force sword and a few highlights with the Librarian Symbol. scrolls, and a few other items. Camera work needs improvement, but this is giving me oodles of practice. As always, comments and critiques welcome!

Not really an update, as of yet. More of a question/request. Does anyone have any advice on how to paint force swords, step-by-step and with pictures? I don't think I am alone when I say this, but the little blighters are hard as to paint and any help would be appreciated!

Most of the time, I see force weapons painted like power power weapons.

there are lots of tutorials in the tutorial section for that.

Any chance of a step by step on how you did that?

Also where did you get your Deathwatch conversion bits?

Thanks... Power Weapons give me fits, and the tutorial I used from here helped. I think I can whip up a quick tutorial no problem. GW sells a Deathwatch Conversion kit that comes with 10 Bolters, 10 Deathwatch Pauldrons, and 10 Marine Heads (5 in helmets, 5 without) for about 25.00 US.

Really digging it. Too many projects, too little money and time. I would love to do this, heck, maybe a full company. Just a suggestion, on the librarian at least, try and clean up/thin down the hightlights (gray/white) around the armor edges. Subtle hightlights will go a lot farther. At least clean it up and make the lines a little tighter.

Where particulary? The feet and greives (?)?

Agreed the highlights on under the right knee and on the left greave need to be a little less conspicuous, but other than that a very fine model indeed. The sword is excellent, a welcome change from the standard fare.

Back to the highlights I don't think they need to be thinner just a touch darker. The addition of some some chaos black might make the difference.

Great job on the minis, and now I see the secret to using those tiny boltguns that come in that conversion kit.

And now i know not to make another tactical marine using both hands for the thing.

Brother Raimer is a Black Templar Tactical Marine...

The Heavy Bolters from the newer sprues have the tips drilled through. Quite nice to be truthful.

Just out of curiosity, can we get some of the background fluff for the characters, that or what they rolled randomly for armour history and character history?

I have one character in the party to finish up. Once I get him painted and done, I'll be happy to oblige.

Small update, but no pics as of yet. The Squad is finished (for the most part. I have 5 PC's and 5 NPC's (4 of which still need painting). The PC's have been given a dip in The Army Painters Strong Tone (shameless plug) and I am pretty pleased with the results. I need to hit them with dull coat and matte sealer so pictures will be forthcoming once this process is done.

The last bit is to let them into the Player's hands and let them dispense the Emperors's Wrath upon 40k Universe.

Slight mini rant.... I really would like GW to actually put out Salamander shoulder pads and not some cheap knock-off thats supposed to represent Alpha Legion.

Gonna try carving the symbol into the pad with gray-stuff. Pics to show up at some point.

I wish they would as well, then again I am not going to hold my breath, nor am I going to dissassemble 200 pts in salamanders to swap 1 pad out....

Anyways, can we get some of the basckground info on the party?
