Ok, so if you remember some months ago I did a twenty four hour paintathon with my IG army, I didn't get very far, and for the last several months I have been very busy, and now finally the motivation has returned. These first pictures are of the Chimera I just finished painting, some of the Infantry I have done, and a preview of things to come. Enjoy. Maybe I'll get some fluff up at some point. Please note the image quality will get better as I figure out my wife's camera, and make a better light box.

The infantry look very very good. Maybe just brighten up the buttons on the boxes on their chest.

Tank looks good too, but I think you could do a bit more weathering so it looks like it is in the same battle as the infrantry. Don't get me wrong- they look similar..just your troops look way more weathered than the tank.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Maybe some mud splatters like you have on the bases of the first 2 minis for the tank.

This is off topic but I don't know why but when I saw these models I thought of Fallout 3, maybe the gasmasks.

Lol, Actually for the tank weathing I followed the Dakka article for tank weathing, unfortunetly some of those colors don't fit with my paint scheme, but It's a lesson learned for the next tank, which I will post pics of tommorow.

I like 'em. Can't tell what to make of the Cadian colors on DKoK though... Only thing I would change would be the colors of the weapon mounts on the chimera. I would just make all the metal the same brown color.

Agreed great start indeed, no need to apologise btw. I hope your wife is feeling better. I'm kind of the opposite on gman1401 on this one, I really like the DKoK colours here, but I'm not such a big fan of the brown tanks. Personally I would have either gone with a subtle camo or gone with a light grey and weathered it heavily. But as they say, each to there own.

Look forward to updates when your wife is feeling better.

Thanks for the comments, she's fine now, I'm currently setting up a "how-I-did-it" with the tanks. As for the colors, the brown tanks was just the image I had in my head, thought it worked with the Korps, also the "cadian" colors are actually the colors of the 261st regiment out off the first Vraks imperial armour book. Here are some update shots of some of the other models in the army, while i finish this Plasmacutioner.

Ok, so here is the story, In the weeks leading up to the new year I had been working on the regiment, but all the while dealing with getting out of the army. SO as a new years Resolution I set some modest goals, one of which was paint at least forty-five minutes every two days. And Now that I have moved my family back to Chicago I could actually begin that resolution. And to start it off I finished MY first executioner and a piece of terrain to make up for all the days I had missed already. Enjoy, C&C welcome. Oh and if anyone actually wants to see them in person, My new base of Operations is going to be the Chicago Battle bunker, so PM me if anyone is game.

Looking very nice, a suggestion I would make is to darken or redden the bases up a bit. Right now they are camouflaging the models a bit (which may be the point I suppose lol) and something more contrasty would show off your painting better. Maybe something as simple as black rims would be enough to do it?

I'm going to go back and add some bits to the bases they are blandish and don't have enough stuff on them.

Hey it's been a little over a two weeks, figure it's time for at least a small update so the MODs don't declare a dead thread (thats what it's called right, or is there a nickname?) So the figures I have on the workbench right now are some engineers I'm using as Melta Vet's the Chimera from earlier in the plog is theirs. This is about halfway through their painting so keep that in mind for C&C. CLICK ON THEM FOR A BETTER VIEW

yeah, because in the IA model masterclass when painting the DKoK, it says the whole thinned wash with weathering powder and desert yellow, THEN details were highlighted...

Ok, here is irrefutable proof that I am in fact painting, some WIP infantry for one of my power blobs. The Trench coat tan part is done, and the armor is about twenty five percent done. My wife had our first child on the seventh of March, she was born at 8:35 pm, and weight 7 lbs 15 oz.

Here we go

Ok so I know it's been to long since I've updated, but I DO have work done, I am almost done with the building of my two penal legion squads, and and in the middle of painting ten more infantry, OH and I'll have some Adepticon Goodness in a couple of weeks, I promise I'll have a real update soon!

So here are some pictures of the army as it stood going to a tourny this last weekend. I was 1 and 2 btw. This was also probably the last ride of the executioner as well, it's just too many points for getting killed turn one or two two out of three games! It's getting replaced by a chimera for my pcs and some priests to make the assaults go a lil more in my favor!

Where are those Penal Legion torsos and heads from??? They are exactly what I have been looking for to add to my Cult army.
