Hey guys, hoping to get some feedback for my new Dark Eldar.

In the end I want my army to be very hemonculus heavy with wracks and grotesques stomping on things all over the place.

Here's my first warrior finished (I have added flock since the pics) His 9 friends are almost done as well so a complete squad to be up soon I hope.

I'm going to be using this Cryx harrower from War machine as a Chronos parasite engine as it's going to be a while before it's out.

I've used the FW rogue psyker as a victim to show that having your soul removed by a parasite engine really isn't fun.

What do you think so far?

A very nice, clean warrior and I love the chronos. I can't wait to see more!

awww, only one reply. Guess it's a good job I've now finished the squad.

I decided to try and paint the squad all at once in a big batch of 10 which was different for me as I usually paint in 5's. Over all I'm happy with how they've turned out.

What do you think with them finished?

Think I'm going to paint the Reavers next.

On a side note I found this guy. How perfect is he for a Grotesque. I hope the GW ones will be close to this

Very cool color scheme. The paulson games "bio-horror" is pretty sweet. Thats what I am going to use for grotesques. Care to share how you did the flesh on your warriors? Its awesome

Great job on the warriors. I like the color scheme you chose, great detailing/color combinations, skin tone/color is really well done. Overall, I say three thumbs up!

The Warriors look really clean and crisp....how I imagine them at the beginning of a raid. Very nicely painted. How long does it take you per model?

Good choice for the parasite engine...using the rogue psyker in that manner is genius.

I'm looking forward to more.

Oh and as sum1thtdiesalot asked how did you do those skin tones?

Ok, I'm stumped.

I'm painting up the first test reaver and planned to paint in with purple edging rather than green like the Kabal stuff is going to be. At the moment I'm not feeling it as it just doesn't seem to "pop" like I find the green does. Have a look.

Do you think the same or am I just judging to soon and it will look better once the rest is painted?

On a better noted I've got my Talos pain engine converted up from another Cryx put together. It's a little more "Chaos dread" than I'd like but I think it will do for a year before the rest of the coven stuff comes out.

Thoughts?

I often find that paint jobs don't look their best until the other colours bring it all together. I like the purple and the lines are 'deliciously' crisp (apologies for the phrase but I'm dying for a Granny Smith apple at the moment). So I think you should continue until its complete and then judge it again.

As for the Cryx Talos it does look very dready... is it possible to remove the legs and make it float? What colours are you going with on your Coven?

As everyones been saying, great skin tones. I really like the metallics. As for the purple, it looks good so far. Finish the model and see how the whole of it looks. Great job so far.

I've given painting the reaver another go in the purple and think I've found a way to do it I'm happy with. I changed two things this time. I made the final highlight a lot lighter and rather that use the edges of the panels to guide my highlights I used the corners.

here they are side by side so you can compare more easily.
1st go.

2nd.

What do you guys think?

For the flesh follow this. It's all done by eye so can't really give you precise amounts. Base of Tallarn flesh and Space wolves grey. wash all over with a mix of Leviathan purple and Ogryn flesh. In the deepest detail of the face wash with Devlan mud. Re highlight with the base colour and keep adding white till you're almost on pure white.

These do look really fantastic and the round but pointed edges of the Cryx engines really fit in so well with the dark eldar look. I can't wait to see them painted up!

Little question for you guys. I'm taking part in a campaign with my Dark Eldar in next month and 2 of the players are using Craftworld Eldar. To counter their mind games I'm thinking of converting up Lady Malys for one of the armies.

For this I need to find a fan that she could use as a hand weapon, problem is I have no idea of any models with a suitable fan to use. Do you guys know of anywhere I could get one?

The second one is a bit cheaper since it's a single model, and the fan has beeter detail(hard to see in this photo). Scale is perfect for 40k. I bought the boxed set that included one other mini, but they sell indivual blisters as well.

Good luck! Your DE look fantastic so far. Love the extreme highlights on the bike, gives it a Tron vibe.
