2 Dreadknights, you say? Thanks for the heads up
Haha! In all seriousness though, fantastic game. Always a joy to watch our two super elite forces going at it, sometimes the luck of the dice (or remembering invisibility ) can win or lose games!
Well played my friend, can't wait to play another asap, will try to spice up my death star

Excellent write-up, and both armies look great on the table!

Will be eagerly looking forward for the follow-up.

What a great battle and report Knightley. Looked like a lot of fun with a lot of back-and-fourth. You had more than your share of bad luck through... that always plays a part.

Thanks for posting this. It's a lot of work but a real treat for your readers! (and yes, the armies look fantastic on the table together)

@Marsnz - Yeah the armies looked amazing on the table, the only thing that let everything down was the scenery on the table, must get onto that!

@Graven - Luckily the Mrs Titan was looking after baby titan, he did end up being on my hip for a bit and boy was he interested in what was going on, quite cute.

@LDP - You might be lucky and someone else may end up with 2 Dreadknights in their face and the next list you face could be a very soft and fluffy list (I have one in mind)

@Meph - It was fun, lots of death and an equal measure of lucky and unlucky rolling.

@littletower - Hopefully wont be left hanging about to long

@Gits - Thanks man, after reading Moonpies Batreps and looking at the comic styled one I figured I would just saturate my batreps with a ton of photos, you're right though, lots of work but I think it came out pretty good!

Update: I *think* I have all the base colours done now, so washes happen next

@Mad - Well history is written by the victors so I'll let LDP make that call, I suspect that I'm probably the bad guy here trying to kill Ultramarines to stop a pseudo demon incursion.

@Moonpie - Oh its on now eh? a photo explosion of batreps, sounds like the second best type of explosion. Right behind a generic large explosion

Update: washes started

Is the LR really that blue, or is it just the way the pics came out? (in some of the pics it really looks blue, others grey)

Well, sir, you've been keeping yourself rather busy haven't you!? No doubt I've said it many times before but I find your output staggering. I was very fond of the post where you recounted rushing lunch at work so you can get 55m to paint on your lunch break and how you know exactly how long that gives you in a week to progress your hobby. Very Pursuit of Happyness.

Also, if it was possible, I think you have even improved since I was last here! It was lovely to see you work on quite a lot of different things but I was always happy to see the grey come back around for a while before you went off on another crisp adventure. Lots of fun to read back! That Librarian, to me at least, felt like some of you best work to date. Have you had any favourite moments, yourself?

@Gits - Just the lights in the office, if I was doing it at home with more natural light you'd see more grey than blue.

@Miss Dee - I blame the lights being to far out of my reach to change then. Oh and also not having lights to change them with

@Casey - Well there was a period over November/December/January that had little to no output while I was at home looking after mini-me but after that its been a steady photo a working day. Regarding my favorite model? at the moment its a tie between the Abbadon repaint and the Felblade, each based on their own merits. Abbadon because it was one of the earliest models I can remember painting and being really happy with it, then being able to give him an update to keep him looking ace. The Felblade because its been sitting looking at me for three years whispering to me to be completed and to have it all done now really feels amazing.

Update: More highlighting of the tank and bits done

Stop me if I'm wrong, but it appears the smoke launchers on the turret are pointing down.
Assuming the turret goes in the rear opening of the LR, wouldn't that mean that firing off the smoke launchers would blast them right off the hull?
Nice work, by the way.

Haha, I think Dakka can forgive you for taking 3 months to enjoy the little one! How is it being a Dad then? Did I see you say the little chap is 1 already? That's scary man, where does the time go!?

And yes, I loved Abbadon too. It's always great to see an old model like that get some love after all this time. The Fel must have been daunting but boy was it worth it! That's a show stopper.

That was a fun battle report even though I don't play 40k. (what's Invisibility lol) It seemed like a close game.

@House Griffith - Thanks for the comments Fingers crossed they are pointing strait out and not downward (the pics show sideways I think)

@Casey - yeah, the blog did fall off the first page of the P&M forum for a while, being a dad is pretty awesome I have to say. This morning he was following me around picking his toys up and trying to give them to me (getting ready for work) and it was really adorable.

@ckig - Cheers! Well invisibility is a psychic power that renders your unit invisible (finally a power that does what it says) and any unit trying to hit that invisible unit will only do so on a roll of a 6, this includes hand to hand and shooting, so very powerful for damage mitigation.

Update: Tanks done, while its not WhaleMusic's cup'o tea being able to chalk this one off my list is another great feeling, been in the works for over 8 years.

That is a thing of maddening beauty. The barrels make it - it seems balanced and well proportioned in a way they so often don't. Cracking.

That's awesome. My one year old daughter was doing a very similar thing picking up toy cars and handing them to me this morning as well, ended up with a whole box of toy cars on my lap and she got moody if my hands were full when she went to hand them to me

The land raider... fantastic work. In particular I really like the "Faith" and "Death" with the script squiggles next to each letter. Great touch to an overall great model.

Hah, amazing! To be fair to the little tyke, he was probably wanting you to make his toys as cool as your ones.

That thing is a glorious beast and I would happily pay to be squished under it's tracks.

@Graven - Cheers bro, happy you approve!

@Camkierhi - Thanks, crisp and clean is what the army is going for

@Gits - Thank you Gits, do you dont think its to over the top

@House Griffith - Yeah, when doing the assembling I tried to make sure it semi worked as a tank (you'll notice the turrets don't go over the tracks, it didn't seem right for it to end up like that.

@Mad. - Well they didn't call me Papa Squiggle for nothing!

@Casey - Good on ya mate, always offering to get squished for the greater good

Update: Speaking of the greater good (see what I did there with the segway into my update hehe) My mate has finally decided on a scheme, but doesn't have all the details all laid out, he knows he want's a Tron style force but thats about it.

So, for this week i've been doing up a few test models, below are the results, what is handy is each model only took about 35 minutes to do up so with some refining should be quite quick to do a force.

Test one - Blue neon, Bronze Gun, Dark Grey Cloth.

Test two - Red Neon, Silver gun, Light Grey Cloth

Test 3 - Green Neon, Bone gun, Medium Grey Cloth
Turns out I didn't take any pictures of this one, apologies

After the R&D I spoke to my mate and asked him what he liked about each one and then set about combining the favorite bits.
Test 4

He was very happy with the look and now he can get to painting his troops
