Hello,
Well I have been busy again today and was working on a new board for the LGS. The one we had was actually pretty tall and very hard to play on so I started to build thease two. I had a girl in the LGS lay down on the foam and let me trace her to get a basic symetrical shape and went from there. She was also kind enough to help me sand some of the parts down, it is amazing what people will do if you ask them nicely So I will show where the steps are that I started with and slowly get on to the overall work as I complete it.

Regards,
Carl

In the sixth pic you can see the tall one in the corner. The work on this part of it took about 2 hours.

I am adding commentary to all of the photos, so people can better understand what I did.

1. Hmm..a blank canvas...what to do.

2. So cut 2-3 around a persons body.

3. Cut 4.

4. Removed cutouts for sanding.

5. After some shaping and sanding the cut outs are ready, the shape is rather "loose" compared to her body contours (Ie. I did not get really close with the marker).

6. She was also kind enough to help sand these, this here is one side of a 4 x4 board still needs details though and paint, the 2 boards are designed to go together, to form a 4 x8 but I wanted people to be able to turn them about so there would be more options.

Hehe, nope, just the look, we have other terrain for the cover saves, I also have found you can buy a ton of those little pine trees for cheap this time of year.

Hello,
So more progress on this project today, however I didnt get to work on any other ones as I had to run a card tourney. As before they will be in order, you will note some of the pics dont look that differnt here. They actually are as I have poured liquid resin on the painted part of the board. Ere we go.

Regards,
Carl

1. Just the paint for the mud.

2. Little closer some of the paint and grass here.

3. First liquid resin pour, you will note the braces at the ends to keep it from just running off, funny enough at this stage I had several spectators.

4. A little closer on the detail here, you can see the grass as well as the eels my lovely daughter added in. At this point I had a young man asking me how much? He seemed sort of surprised when I quoted mats to him, and then gave him a ball park figure.

5. Some of the flocking has ben added, and you can see the skelly I added at the far end near the 2 x 4 brace.

6. A better look at what I call the deep end, the grass is now more prevelent, and you can see the reflection off the water, it should be fully cured by tommarow.

Hello,
Well it was cold today, and the LGS was normally closed, however as I have the key I went in and worked on the board some more, I also started the sister board, I will try to post the running commentary I have on thease, in theroy is should follow the pics by number.

Regards,
Carl
1. Today the blocks came off the ends, as the resin was cured, this is the deep end.

2. This is the shallow end, with the blocks off.

3. This shot was taken to show how nasty that mud would be to walk through.

4. A little further back on the other side, the white foam you see was a wierd chemical reaction I got. I painted over it in a olive green and shaded it.

5. This is the sister board to it, as you can see I just got a start on it today, so foam is shaped, sanded, glued down and film is removed. The "mud" area is just painted for now, you can also get a better idea of the shape I used to make it.

6. This mainly shows how they would join up, however once framing is done they can be spun any which way. You can also see the "water flow" pattern I am using.

Hello,
Well it has been a few days and I have been working in a Slaaneshi workshop trying to keep up with multiple projects, and birdboy Tzeentch has yet to send any scribes to help. So thease are taking a bit longer. Ere' we go.

Regards,
Carl

1. This is the sister board to the one above, so far just paint and flocked. I will be getting to the resin when I get more of the flock down.

2. A side view of the same. Board 1 was a big hit among some of our regulars, even though it is not quite there yet, made me feel glad about this little project!
