Thanks! I used to paint 2nd ww models but this is the first time with w40k. Is it just me or the painting process is really sloooow? Probably I try to put too much details.

Beautifully done. Love how you've put in plenty of contrasting colors to keep the models visually interesting, without oversaturating anything too much, keeping everything 'cept the choppas darker.

Often, it seems as if painting orks is a tradeoff between time and quality, and most people choose time, because of the quantity of their models. But when someone takes the time to really properly paint an army - any army, it really is worth it.

I'd have to agree, the nails are perhaps a little too white for the grubby orks. Remember, those thing's'd be stuck in mud, nostrils, and entrails all the time - never soap and water.

GENERATION 8: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

if you are looking to play orks on the tabletop and that is going to be your painting standard, you are going to possess
an amazing looking army.

the process for painting minis is much more time consuming than the usual scale military model BUT there are ways to speed things up a bit. Assembly line style painting can help immensely.

individually they are not amazing paint jobs but in large groups they look great. a big issue is knowing how much work to put into a single mini of a large unit which will be used for gaming.

keep up the great work!!

To be honest I always start with a bunch of fives. I remove the molding errors first than glue the model to the base plate but i didn't glue together the arm and head with the body. I spray the whole with chaos black then I start painting the skin, the metal parts and the leather jacket. But after that I paint the models individually and that's when I loose time. I know i can paint them with less color but the way i see an ork army is like bunch of individuals who collect their stuff from garbage bins and scrapyards. The only common pattern i use is a yellow strip which I paint on every model.

Good advise with the fingernails, I keep that in my mind. Also I'm thinking to put some mud to their boots but i don't want over detailed minis.

for your first batch of orks they looks great. Personally, I would prefer a brighter skin tone, but the painting job is very neat, nice work

Incredible for a start. Orks seems to be a really fun army, you can go completely nuts when converting. Will be interesting seeing what crazy stuff your mek will come up with...
