Derpy is immortal

Alright, let's clear dome stuff up:

Derpy was only changed on the iTunes version, I heard apple didn't want the supposedly offensive copy on iTunes.

Her name is still officially Derpy

She will still appear as a background pony, derp-eyes and all, as she has in episodes since "The Last Roundup"

People have just gone a little over the top about this, but the main thing is she will still appear as normal; Derpy is still Derpy, so it's all good!

Last I hears from one of the people who work on the show was that it was Hasbro, not Apple that wanted the change.

To be honest , I've heard both too, but as it's only changed on the iTunes version (as far as we know) it would seem that apple have some influence over deciding whether the content was offensive.

Should I do a presentation on ponies or a presentation on 40k?

Both. Do it about how Ponies are infiltrating genres which are very far removed from the basic premise of the show. Cite 40K as an example, using peoples pony armies as evidence. You could also use Fallout: Equestria as another example. Show how it highlights the potential of fan-driven advertising on the internet by reaching audiences who would not otherwise be accessible.

Yes, it;s around here somewhere. I stopped watching it after five seconds, the whole "airhead blonde" style voice made me sad. And I wasn't a massive fan of Derpy to begin with.

Seriously, I find the new voice more offensive than the old voice.

The army's going to total around 5K, but i was planning on growing it to that size anyway. The arachnafied ponies just made me get back to work on my biggest army, so I suppose that's another thing I can thank MLP for!

Well, I did play a seige against two of my friends (both playing HE), one of which is also a Brony. Derpy had cleared out a major objective, and was sitting comfortably atop it, as the brony was unable to bring himself to fire at Derpy. He also could of charged twilight's rear with his swordmasters, but couldn't bear to do so! It was in fact only the non-brony who took any casualties from my army in the entire battle!

Response from a Hasbro PR rep on the Derpy thing;

"The 'My Little Pony Friendship is Magic' series has always been about acceptance and inclusion, and the series strives to convey that through the playful antics of a diverse cast of characters," Hasbro spokeswoman Nicole Angello told us over email. "Some viewers felt that aspects of the episode 'The Last Roundup' did not stay true to the core message of friendship which is the heart and soul of the series. Hasbro Studios decided to make slight audio alterations to this single episode."

I do like that their version of acceptance a d inclusion is to change people who are different to be more "normal".

Need to get my hands on a copy of the Derpy episode (featuring Apple Jack!) ASAP. To be honest, the first I heard about the show there was a section in the write up called "Who is Derpy Hooves?" which went on to explain about the editing error and how fans had picked up on it. I wanted to see it for myself and that was pretty much all she wrote. So, Derpy sort of holds a special place as "Best Pony" for getting me to watch the show in the first place. I'd much rather see the original higher pitched / more "feminine" version of her.

Edit: And also one more reason to say Apple...

The Original version was actual lower pitched, more nasally voiced, as no one told the voice actor that the character was a girl. It's the edit that gives her a more feminine voice, though not a well do e one.
